Genomics Core is part of KU Leuven and UZ Leuven and provides services to researchers, clinicians and their patients, as well as to external companies for applications in DNA sequencing and data analysis. We focus on developing new analysis methods for sequencing data as well as adapting and implementing existing pipelines in a diagnostic and research setting. We are currently looking for a bioinformatician to support our research service.
This is a full-time position through external financing
You will join an international team of bioinformaticians, laboratory technicians and support staff for the development of analysis tools for NGS data, in order to realize the transition to clinical use through research. We work on whole genome sequencing, targeted panels, RNAseq, NIPT, CHIPseq, de novo assembly, single cell sequencing and more…
Your work consists of adapting and further developing existing pipelines to our needs in these application domains and implementing them in a research setting.
- You have a relevant master, PhD or comparable work experience in the fields of Bioinformatics, Biostatistics or Biophysics.
- You are familiar with bioinformatics software, programming languages and statistics.
- Experience with cloud computing is a plus.
- You have a problem-solving attitude and enjoy intellectual challenges that stimulate your analytical mind.
- You are collegial and can work in a team.
