We provide Full-Service Engineering for our clients including Project and Programme Management, Procurement, Design, Construction Management, Health & Safety Management, Commissioning, Qualification and Start-up on numerous projects across a range of market sectors. Our Main market sectors are: Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology, Medical Technologies, Oil and Gas, Advanced Technology, Science & Education, Food & Beverage and Energy.

Role

Contract Administration on site would be carried out by the Contract manager in accordance with DPS and Client procedures.

Scope: Equipment Supplier packages and Mechanical/Piping/HVAC/Electrical packages.

Key steps in ensuring that supplier and contractor costs are kept under control, that there are

no ‘surprises’ late in the contract, and that final accounts can be closed out

promptly on completion of the works, include:

  • Ensuring site team have a clear understanding of the suppliers/contractors’ scope and all commercial agreements made pre-award. Package owners and Supervisors are instructed to keep the contracts manager fully informed on any issues that could potentially have cost and/or schedule impact;
  • Prompt agreement with contractors and equipment suppliers on quantity measures following issue of PO’s and IFC packages. Terms and Conditions impose obligation on contractors to make their submission within a defined period of IFC issue, but pressure must be maintained on them to comply with this.
  • Weekly close-out of site work instructions and confirmation from the contractor that there are no outstanding decisions or instructions required. This information needs to be minuted weekly.
  • Monthly commercial meeting with contractors’ contracts manager Package owners to close out monthly account and any outstanding cost issues. Documentation of all issues and agreements is essential
  • Prompt responses to RFIs and any correspondence from contractors and suppliers which may later form the basis of a claim.

  • Experience as contract manager in an engineering environment
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Good Communicator
  • Teamplayer
  • Preferably a masters degree in an engineering education
  • Fluent in French and English
