CREW CONTROLLER

Mission

Responsible for an effective and efficient crew planning for all flights and take action where needed to ensure a safe and on time departure of all flights. You strive to achieve optimal crew planning, aimed at maximum operational performance by coordinating the commercial (im)possibilities, within the framework of legal and employee regulations.

Responsible for the coordination of the cabin and cockpit crew published roster and long term planning as from the 16th of each month up to day of operations and unforeseen events in the long term period. Responsible of available resources during disruptions and this between the hours of 05:00 until 22:15, 7days/7 days.

Tasks

Communication
  • Comprehensive handover to on coming shift.
  • Single point of contact for crew issues with internal departments such as OCC, Cabin Line Management, Cockpit Management, Scheduling, Training Department and external departments
  • Contacting crew to inform them of roster changes in a professional, concise and objective manner.
Compliance
  • Fair division of duties for cabin and cockpit crews taking into account personal request (social life) in compliance with applicable industrial, company and regulatory requirements in an objective way, keeping in mind cost optimization.
  • Take into account the different aircraft types and match with the specific qualifications owned by different cabin crew members.
  • Update rosters and inform crews and relevant departments in order to ensure follow up of published roster.
  • Efficient use of reserves cabin and cockpit crew.
  • Maximum use of crew already on duty.
  • Act as the point of contact between crews, flights and all relevant departments (request, swaps, sickness, technical problems, delays, extra flights etc….) in order to ensure the communication flow of relevant and important information.
Situational awareness
  • Responsible for adapting hotel reservations when required (additional crew, technicians) contact passengers coordinators desk in case of changes to positioning flights or extra positioning flights in order to ensure continuity, make sure all transports are arranged between airport/hotel.
Independency and complexity
  • Implementation of proposals in communication of OCC and validate that implement.
  • Report every irregularity by filling in accurately the log in order to ensure that departments can find a valid explanation of a crew member’s absences, sickness etc….
  • Responsible for reporting all abnormalities to BCAA on a monthly base.
Commercial impact and cost savings

Providing new crews/or change crews due to equipment changes requested by commercial/technical departments on a daily base in order to avoid cancellations and delays and to ensure on time departure.

When not available search for any valid candidate in the published roster.

Extra tasks

All individuals have their own specific tasks to complete during shifts.

  • Languages: FR-ENG-DU
