EU Public Affairs Sr Manager

About the Job

Your mission will be to anticipate major EU public policy issues and advocate to support Danone’s business, by managing relations with external specific influential stakeholders within EU Institutions level, and NGOs, as well as to manage Danone representations and influence strategy in European industry associations.

Your main tasks will include:

Danone Company positions and advocacy plan on public affairs issues

• Manage EU focused public affairs issues
• Advocate Danone Company’s position according to Company global PA strategy and ensure consistency cross-CBUs

Stakeholders engagement

• Represent Company in relevant transversal trade associations (FDE, AIM, The Pledge etc)
• Define and implement the advocacy strategy to influence stakeholders agenda
• Identify and develop relations with key EU stakeholders to strengthen Danone’s network of key influencers
• Build stakeholders mapping and engagement strategy: build and deliver the appropriate message to each target, and define the right level of engagement (dialogue, influence, partnership)
• Identify the relevant Danone spokesperson & prepare messages for the meetings with stakeholders
• Represent Company in relevant transversal trade associations (FDE, AIM, The Pledge etc)

Representation of Danone Company in front of political institutions and NGOS

• EU institutions: European Parliament, European Commission, Member States representatives
• NGOS: BEUC, EHN etc.

Foster cross-CBU and cross-function collaboration

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Education: Political Science, International Relations, law
• Experience (in years): 7-10 years of experience global or regional policy advocacy roles, NGOs or EU Institutions. Proven active role in industry Associations, NGOs… Participation in advocacy campaigns
• Strong competencies to communicate with impact, engage stakeholders, assess & manage business risks and opportunities and ensure license to operate
• Proven advocacy campaign experience
• Ability to develop networks internally and externally
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Strong interest and sensitivity to political and economic matters
• Thorough, well organized and Results and outcomes oriented
• Agility and ability to manage complexity
• Collaborative mindset & attitudes
