Field service engineer

Company

As a Field serivce engineer, you are capable of familiarizing yourself with the technical specifications of a product or system. Subsequently, you are responsible for the technology transfer to all other relevant parties. This means that you will need to travel relatively frequently abroad to ensure the transfer at the client’s site.

Your tasks are as follows:

• Set up all necessary installations locally for the completion of assigned missions.
• Install, test, maintain, and/or repair systems or products on the client’s site.
• Analyze and solve technical problems, if necessary in collaboration with the company’s engineering service.
• Inform clients about products/systems and train them in their correct and safe use and maintenance.
• Report results and actions taken to both the client and the company at regular intervals. Record and document these results so that they can be reviewed later by other individuals.

Job description

For a Belgian client with an international reputation, candidates with technical experience on military vehicles and accessories are urgently sought.
What are we looking for

We are looking for an experienced ex-military, ideally non-commissioned officer. Someone who knows how to move things forward and work autonomously. You enjoy traveling. Your goal is customer satisfaction; you take pride in imparting your knowledge to the client to ensure they have received and understood all useful information. In case of a problem, you try to solve it yourself initially.

We are seeking someone who has:

• A bachelor degree or equivalent experience,
• Broad general technical knowledge,
• Linguistic skills in English and Dutch (good written and oral communication), with other languages being a plus,
• Flexibility and willingness to spend long periods abroad,
• A strong ability to adapt to other cultures,
• Autonomy and the ability to work independently,
• Practical problem-solving skills,
• Customer-oriented thinking,
• A strong awareness of quality,
• A great willingness to learn.
