Financial Controller (H/F/X)

For our client, Robert Half is looking for a Senior Financial Controller(H/F/X).

Our client is a is an investment firm targeting long-term private equity investments. Part of the group, one of the companies is growing significantly and expending throughout Europe. The number of entities present in Luxembourg has increased importantly over the past 12 months. The Senior Financial Controller will be a trusted professional member of the Group Controlling team and the guardian of the quality of the entities in Luxembourg for accounting, compliance and reporting processes. This function requires not only collaboration with the teams established in the various countries of the group but also with the already present team in Luxembourg. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an office set-up while joining a dynamic organization with rapid expansion and growth.

The Sr. Financial Controller will report to the Group Controlling Director who is in turn reporting to the Group CFO. This person will undertake the following responsibilities:

• Ownership of the financial, accounting and compliance requirements of the Company Luxembourg entities:
  • Ownership of the production of monthly financial statements and reports of Lux entities for the Group Review of monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, including key items such as, debt items movements, intercompany reconciliations, accrual processes and correct accounting of financial instruments
  • Key player in the financial/accounting management of centralized Treasury functions in Luxembourg
  • Support the accounting process and financial analysis of HQ related costs in Luxembourg
  • Ensuring the company complies with all requirements regarding financial reports and local audit matters including the yearly filing of statutory accounts, tax, VAT returns, and Transfer Pricing matters
  • Ensure the application of controls and promote a strong internal control culture
  • Work closely with external firm that provides accounting services in Luxembourg and with the Group stakeholders
  • Statutory audit Responsibility, manage communication and audit processes with external auditors

• As part of the Group Controlling Team, support the Group Control activities and projects:
  • Participate in the Audit of Group IFRS consolidated accounts produced at different levels of the organization
  • Participate in the development of the company Internal Control framework including drafting and updating Finance Processes and Procedures (Finance Manuals, guidelines and processes)
  • Participate in the continuous development and improvement of SAP FC (The Group’s consolidation and reporting tool) processes
  • A player on Integration of Acquired entities in the Group, understanding of LBO structure in the Group and its legal structure
  • Ad Hoc projects

PROFILE

• Experienced Controller with solid accounting (IFRS) skills. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required
• Audit background and/or experience of preparing or reviewing consolidated financial statements for an international group
• Understanding of LBO financial structures in Luxembourg
• Very good command of English
• Excellent command of Microsoft Excel, strong analytical, report writing and communication skills; you will also enjoy problem solving and working under strict deadlines with people from different horizons in Europe
• Knowledge of SAP FC or any consolidation tool is an asset
• Comfortable working in a matrix organization
• Self-starter, able to deal with organizational changes and different stakeholders

The position is a full-time Luxembourg based position. Some travel within Europe may be required.
