Overview

The Marketing Manager, Bioseparations is part of the Global Biopharmaceuticals Marketing team. In this leading business marketing function, the individual is responsible for translating a corporate marketing vision and strategy into an annual corporate tactical marketing to support the global sales operation. Ultimately, this enables the sales organization to successfully position solutions to the customers and to meet business results.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a corporate bioseparation marketing plan based on the corporate 5-year strategy and creates a “go-to” market annual plan addressing market segments specificities, in line with product offering, and based on business analytics and market intelligence.
  • Drive alignment on the defined marketing plan between global science operations, demand generation, sales enablement, and commercial operations teams, as well as their respective functions in the field.
  • Lead program/initiative risk management: communicate needs, roadblocks and define mitigation plans, revising and refining assigned projects and responsibilities based on the business changes and priority adjustments. Ensure that projects stay on track, on budget, and flexible to meet the new requirements.
  • Work collaboratively across the marketing and product organizations, to leverage the value brought to customers by end-to-end, integrated workflows in the assigned segments.
  • Consult internally to develop high impact applications in line with local market dynamics linked to the demand in the assigned market segments by working closely with corporate scientific groups and the regional and local demo-lab teams and application support teams.
  • Bring fact-based and quantified customer insights by getting deeply involved in customer collaborations and interactions to leverage voice of customers and customer-based marketing activities, globally.
  • Participate in, and where appropriate, organize meetings, seminars, tradeshows to promote the Waters brand, capture mindshare and bring knowledge into the organization.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the competitive landscape, be able identify threats and opportunities in real time, and create action plans accordingly.
  • Based on internal and external VOC, work with product marketing organization to focus on continuous improvement and further innovation of LC, LC-MS, chemistry, software, and services products.
  • Support sales enablement strategy for the market segment, customize tools and content to guarantee market segment knowledge and in-depth understanding of customer solutions in the sales organization.
Education

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required in chemistry, (bio)pharmacy or related topic; MA/MS/MBA or other advanced degree preferred
Experience
  • Strong scientific knowledge and technical marketing background in the field of biopharmaceutical liquid chromatography and associated technologies (sample preparation, automation, data systems, …).
  • Track record of transverse team management and international project management
  • In-depth experience in a variety of functional areas including marketing, strategy, and deployment of digital demand to drive new commercial business tactics.
  • Experience in a commercial / business position is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, & especially PowerPoint

  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required (up to 30%)
