Make your mark for patientsTo strengthen our Cross-functional Leadershipteam, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Head of Early Evidence Strategy based in the Head Quarters, Brussels, Belgium or Slough, UK.As part of UCB’s sustained and strategic commitment to bring value to patients, UCB acknowledges the importance of evidence based, patient centric decision making throughout the whole product development process.In this context the Head of Early Evidence Strategy is accountable for providing the necessary insights that shape the value proposition & the development strategy of pre- and early clinical programs through the lens of the patient, payer and other key stakeholders. The aim is to support the early solutions unit, as of target selection to make the right choices that will address future remaining unmet need and differentiation potential when the drug reaches the patients in the market.Main Accountabilities
  • Providing strategic therapeutic area input into discovery
  • Supporting an evidence-based view on potential patient prioritization and indication sequencing
  • Ensuring effective & efficient delivery of evidence-based input that enables stage-appropriate informed decision making by
    • Continuously enhance UCB’s understanding of patients and stakeholders and proactive engagement aligned with the strategic intent
    • Translating scientific to commercial differentiation based on clinically and commercially relevant attributes with a good understanding of how the product is likely to be positioned at launch, assessing the threats and risks to the commercial value of our projects. Understanding competitor strategy and value proposition and the overlap with ours. Detailed competitor profiling and comparison against our TPVP
    • Providing the complete global access and pricing strategy
    • Framing and execution of the appropriate RWE strategic and tactical plans; using real-world data :
      • - that contributes to our understanding of the natural course of diseases, treatments and patient outcomes within priority ecosystems of care
      • - that supports design decision of early clinical studies
    • Identify patterns of opportunity that are common across multiple assets in the new therapeutic area domain. Engineer new approaches and strategies to maximize opportunities: for example, disease modification, complementary diagnostics, patient stratification, joint regulatory-payer advice
    • Proactively identify and advise on in- and out-licensing opportunities based on strategic fit, asset knowledge and payer knowledge
    • Act as key strategic partner, trusted expert and thought leader to Early Solutions LT and beyond and early mission leads. Influence peers, and senior management in UCB
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:Technical Capabilities
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Science
  • Successful track record, significant experience in strategic intelligence roles in pharmaceutical & healthcare industry
  • Functional expertise in at least one of the following functions: Patient Voice, Competitive strategy, Access strategy & evidence planning, Patient engagement or RWE
  • Good understanding of the research & early development space, as well as experience in commercial roles is an asset
  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments
