The HR Director Benelux will provide leadership and drive the people strategy in a very dynamic and evolving environment, in collaboration with GM, Leadership team and work councils of Belgium and The Netherlands, to help optimize our business opportunities.
This role will report to the HR Head of EU Cluster and have the local Benelux based HR team report to him/her.
This role will be the strategic HR business partner to the assigned business leaders and jurisdictions. As such, it is critical that he is able to effectively and efficiently partner with/advise both their operating partner and other leaders in the organization to evaluate, assess, design, enhance and develop short and long term talent and organizational strategies, in line with our enterprise vision and HR operating model. This partnership will drive business performance through focused execution of our workforce planning, organization design, talent management, team effectiveness and change management. The partner must be able to anticipate organization and talent challenges as well as understand the key business drivers and demonstrate use of data & external trend insights to solve organization issues and design the most effective people strategy.
Extensive experience translating strategy to actionable projects and initiatives is also required of the successful candidate. He/she must be able to drive the successful delivery of project and/or portfolio objectives across business unit(s) by ensuring effective stakeholder management, alignment and business engagement, and provide guidance to staff and business leaders to improve project execution and remove internal and external barriers to successful execution.
Critical skills will include being able to bring structure to local challenges while utilizing pragmatic scope problem solving approach and execution management. Strong experience will also be required managing strategic initiatives to inform/shape long term model transformation in a highly complex and dynamic market landscape.
The successful candidate will also coordinate planning, provide guidance to stakeholders regarding team effectiveness/culture, organization design, talent management and change management. As such it is critical that they have a demonstrated track record of have been able to develop and engage a matrix team in order to allocate and influence resources with the right skills to projects/initiatives. More specifically, the candidate will also be a change agent in driving the continued evolution of the HR Operating Model.
Additionally, we expect this role to be an important driver in strengthening a value add EU Cluster regional mindset and partnership as we continue to build the region.
Responsibilities
- Provides HR Business Partnership to respective Business function in order to drive business performance and foster cooperation across the sub-cluster and the enterprise
- Strategically executes organizational and people development initiatives within the client groups such as change management, organization effectiveness, career development, talent management and organizational health initiatives.
- Supports coordination of business transformation projects within the client groups from a people perspective by partnering closely with HR stakeholders and labor relations
- Leverages business strategy, people strategy, external best practices and organizational insights to deliver bold and innovative organizational and talent solutions
- Applies “systems thinking” and leads change for effectiveness of organization performance through the use of metrics and analytics in a way that drives business performance.
- Applies judgment to data insights and trends to support business talent and organization decisions that drives organizational effectiveness and innovative and robust workforce planning, engagement strategies, and succession management
- Collaborates across the HR operating model (COE’s, People Services) to articulate business needs and partners in delivering solutions in ways that bring value across the enterprise
- Defines and leads change management efforts to ensure delivery of organizational solutions, programs and deliverables
- Takes a leadership role in creating a respectful and inclusive work environment while role-modeling the BMS Behaviors and values and fostering cultural diversity.
- Builds and develops strong relationships within the broader HR community in order to effectively influence key stakeholders in HR Operations and HR Centers of excellence
- Contribute to positive social climate in managing relations with the local Belgian and Dutch Works Council
- Candidate should have a BA/BS Degree, Advanced Degree preferred, and 10+ years of HR relevant business experience
- Proven success in working effectively at senior management levels to impact and influence decision making
- Proven application in leveraging business acumen and external insights to improve business and talent outcomes
- Experience in leading change management efforts including defining change and communication plans
- Experience in the use of metrics and analytics in a way that drives business performance
- Demonstrated experience in applying workforce planning knowledge, engagement strategies, and succession management
- Proven experience in working effectively within a matrixed environment and building alignment in a cross functional and cross geography team environment
- Knowledge of external trends and factors that influence human behaviors and decision-making at the individual, group, and organizational level
- Strong experience in partnering with social partners in an influential way
- Commuting across Belgium and Netherlands is required, up to 40%
- French language a must, Dutch language an asset
- Strong adequation with the BMS values
