Our modern production site in Veurne has a capacity of about 2,5 million packets a day. We’re a leading plant when it comes to manufacturing processes and technologies with 8 production lines and a team of more than 500 employees. In this role you partner with the local Plant Director to drive the HR agenda, reporting directly into the HR Lead Supply Chain Benelux and you are part of the HR team Benelux. Your team consists of 2 direct reports, an HR business partner and a Jr. HR Business Partner, and 1 indirect report, an HR Assistant and you collaborate with a wide array of stakeholders within the Supply Chain, the Benelux Business Unit, and our European business
Accountabilities

  • Management team member within the Veurne plant(Lays brand); the plant is one of the biggest providers of crisps and snacks to our West Europe business
  • HR Professional who works deep in the business focusing on playing a critical role in linking, translating, and integrating HR tools at the site, as well as strategic org design and creation of talent pipeline to ensure a future-fit organization
  • Management of HR services and processes with central HR Teams (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Management and Ops Services)
  • Represents HR to the following client groups: Plant Management Team members and Line Managers (Frontline Employees are managed by Jr. HR BP), as well as Works Council
  • Driver of maintaining positive local labor relations at union sites and employee engagement
  • Assist managers in making balanced business decisions while advocating for appropriate employee interventions
  • Serve as a trusted employee advisor for all employees within the client groups, Active participation in regional HR projects.
  • Work closely with the Plant Director, the Plant Management Team, and HR Supply Chain team to ensure that the people objectives are implemented optimally to support the achievement of the business goals.
  • Ensure provision of a full HR generalist service to the client group including employee relations, staffing, career & personal development, compensation, benefits administration, performance
  • Support engaging and timely internal communications to the Plant
  • Lead strategic reviews on Workforce planning and recruitment processes
  • Build and develop strong relationships within the broader HR community

Employee Relations

  • Manage day-to-day employee and labor relations, as well as shape the longer-term labor relations agenda for the Plant
  • Coach HRBP and Jr. HRBP to pro-actively manage possible employee issues in cooperation with the (frontline)managers
  • Lead agenda for monthly Works Council meetings, and be the key negotiator for local CLA’s
  • Build solid relationships with external union representatives
  • Facilitate roundtables and workshops, lead focus groups, …

HR Core Processes and projects

  • Own and guide line managers through HR Core processes (Code of Conduct, Values, Performance Management etc.)
  • Manage the Reward & Recognition process
  • Update job descriptions
  • Cooperate and/or lead the implementation of HR projects
  • Support in Health & Safety Programs
  • Play a critical role in the preparation of audits and compliance requirements (ISO, Health&Safety, document control, …)

Training and Development

  • Owner of Training budget and driver of training cost refund optimization
  • Internal trainer for smaller training/workshops (e.g.values, career conversations, …)
  • Work closely with line managers to ensure development plans are executed and the most appropriate training is procured
  • Implement the various leadership development initiatives and enhance managerial capability in the plant by organizing Front Line Manager (FLM) days, support and/or facilitating the FLM academy and day to day coaching of Line Managers

Talent Management
Coach too, and talent developer the plant HR team

  • Lead the Performance process for blue and white collars within the client group
  • Support the managers and employees in guaranteeing a qualitative performance review process
  • Lead the local yearly PPP sessions and actively followup on career planning and bench building

HR Systems & Administration

  • Ensure all core processes are effectively administered and within 100% data accuracy targets. Digital skills
  • You have a genuine interest in how the company operates in this area and are keen on keeping track of the latest developments in the world of digitalization.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Dutch speaking, with a very good knowledge of English
  • A proven experience within the manufacturing industry, combined with experience in an international,matrix-based environment is a big preference
  • Knowledge of Belgian labor legislation and strong negotiator within the Labor Relations context

Minimum of 5 year’s working experience in the broad field of Human Resources

  • Preferred candidates will hold a Master degree within HR or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of HR (best) practices
  • Organizational savviness and a capability to work in a fast-moving environment that requires impact and interaction with different stakeholders.
  • Balance between strategic insight combined with hands-on and astute decision making
  • Able to build trust with large groups of employees
  • Coach to Management Team members, Frontline Managers, and their teams
  • Able to harness community of service to deliver solutions
  • Able to partner with HR Teams across the region
  • Natural people skills, proven communication skills at all levels, outspoken team player
  • Ability to perform under pressure, high flexibility, and adaptability.
