Mission :
As a Payroll & Compliance Officer you ensure the effective and efficient processing of payroll with the team in Belgium and internationally, meeting the highest quality standards. More generally, you take an active role in the HR Shared Service function, contributing to the effective administration of the entire employee lifecycle. You are also responsible for the compliance watch in the HR environment, tracking regulatory developments, highlighting relevant risks and contributing to associated actions.

Challenges we will trust you with :

• Actively contribute to and oversee end-to-end payroll processing.
• Take ownership of all payroll aspects of non-residents, expatriates, split payrolls, as well as ad-hoc situations and exceptions.
• Actively contribute to the effective and efficient organization and execution of administrative processes related to the employee lifecycle – onboarding, career management, exit, etc.
• Take ownership of the company’s compliance watch.
• Take charge of or contribute to expatriate and non-resident files, including compensation statements, annual reconciliation, contracts and tax returns.
• Ensure hands-on coaching of team members on best practices and specific know-how.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

What we value :

• At least 3 years’ hands-on experience in a similar position in Belgium and preferably in some other countries.
• In-depth experience of payroll and related processes, administrative requirements and best practice.
• Solid understanding of employment and social law, as well as the Social Security and income tax environment in Belgium and across borders.
• Experience with the non-resident tax status, expatriates and splits.
• A strong numbers orientation and ease to effectively report to and communicate with accounting and finance departments.
• Fluent in both French and English.
• A great ability to seamlessly integrate an existing team, actively contributing, listening and questioning.
• Aptitude to take initiatives including others, actively share and acquire knowledge and know-how, managing ambiguity.
• The position is based in Belgium, Louvain-la-Neuve.
