Agrifirm Amplifier is a new strategic multidisciplinary team of 3 people within Agrifirm that is responsible for innovative partnerships with external parties. The partnerships that the Agrifirm Amplifier team sets up can take many forms, from joint development relationships to investments or strategic acquisitions.

The team aims to have a significant impact within 5 years on making the sector more sustainable, strengthening the commercial operations of farmers and the growth opportunities for Agrifirm. Due to the strategic nature of the partnerships, the Agrifirm Amplifier team has direct interaction with Agrifirm’s management.

Innovation Analyst

The Agrifirm Amplifier team is looking for an Innovation Analyst who wants to be at the forefront of innovation in the agricultural sector. In this role of Business Analyst you will look for innovative companies with which Agrifirm can collaborate. You will analyze the ’pearls’ that you find with the team and then draw up an action plan together to further explore and shape the possible collaboration. In the process you not only work closely with the Agrifirm Amplifier team, but also with internal technical, operational and legal specialists and external advisors.

As an Innovation Analyst you learn to identify opportunities in the market, analyze them in a structured way and link them to the strategy, and then translate them into a practical approach that you can implement with the team. In this role you will gain insight into what a good investment proposition is and which propositions are more suitable for collaboration and which ones are more suitable for investments. You will gain experience with the whole range of deal types, from joint development programs to venture capital investments and acquisitions.

For this role we are looking for analytical ’self-starters’ with good collaboration and process management skills. It is important that you have an affinity with the agricultural sector

  • You will work from an Agrifirm office in the Netherlands or Belgium, but because the team is spread over different locations and we are now all used to working from home due to Corona, you will also be able to work from home.

Desired Qualifications

  • A master’s degree (preferably in economics)
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
  • We are looking for analytical candidates who can work independently, structured and accurately.
  • You have been interested in innovation for some time and you have an affinity with Agtech.
  • Extracurricular activities are a plus (for example: student consultancy roles and/or board positions).

Responsibilities

  • Scouting relevant companies technologies and market opportunities.
  • Analyze companies, collect information and formulate and present action plan
  • Process management team projects and due diligence processes
  • Components of the due diligence process. In the beginning you will do this in close collaboration with more experienced teammates and external advisors. As you gain more experience, you will independently tackle more and more parts of the process.
  • Periodically evaluate and report on partnerships, investments and joint ventures.
