The Position

We are looking for an International Transport Manager to strategically shape and implement our Ocean logistics business within AB InBev. The role scope includes all container flows from finished goods to materials. You will be involved in projects, daily operational issues, crisis management, KPI improvement, carrier relationships and more. You are supported by a direct report and work closely with our Global Procurement, Busines Service Center (BSC) Teams around the world, our international logistics team, and our importer customers.

The role is in our Global International Logistics Team and preferably based in our Leuven, Belgium office but we can be flexible for other AB InBev office locations in Europe or the Americas.

Here’s what you would be doing

  • Support in escalations with carriers
  • Support establishing new lanes, finding additional transport capacity, get empty containers for loading from carriers, reduce extra costs etc.
  • Improve KPIs like weight per shipment, demurrage, and detention costs
  • Prepare and support the global ocean tender
  • Coach and develop the team, leading training for different teams in the BSC’s
  • Be part of global benchmarking sessions and act as our representative on ocean related industry conventions

You probably have these key skills and experiences

  • You have around 5-8 years relevant professional experience in a Logistics and/or Procurement role, with Container Management experience a priority
  • You probably have a university degree in a relevant field, e.g. Engineering, Supply Chain Logistics; and an MBA or similar is an asset.
  • You have a track record in managing complex situations.
  • You are great at building cross-functional relationships and credibility with business leaders, your teams, external stakeholders, and peers.
  • You communicate and engage across your stakeholders delivering impactful messages, expertly negotiating, and influencing outcomes.
  • You embrace change and thrive working with a high level of independence in a continuously evolving environment.
  • You can creatively solve business problems pragmatically and at speed – assimilating issues and turning ideas into clear requirements, generating coordinated solutions based on your own experience, insights.
  • You are an owner. You take results personally, act with accountability and transparency and a bias for action.
  • Spanish language skills would be an asset
