Your Profile

The ideal candidate is a law student/lawyer with a demonstrated knowledge of European privacy law and an interest in ITC law. A basic understanding of IT is a distinct advantage, although not a strict requirement.

Your Team And Your Responsibilities

TME’s Customer Quality is part of Quality Function and is responsible for detecting, investigating and solving quality issues occurring on customer’s vehicles. To achieve a quick solution and thus minimise customer inconvenience our engineers use a wide range of data and cooperate with international partners – from the sales network up to our suppliers - throughout the Quality processes.

The Customer Quality – EBR (EDER Business Reform) team is a dynamic and internationally diverse team, aiming to improve the data streams, tools, systems and processes to enable the best performance of the Quality engineers in a privacy compliant way.

Your Project

Your main responsibility will be to assist the business with pragmatic legal advice (in alignment with TME’s privacy team) in order to review existing and promote the development of new systems, applications and processing operations in the automotive field and new mobility. This will include among others:
  • Get deeper understanding of the Customer Quality business, tools and processes;
  • Directly and pro-actively liaising with TME’s Privacy team to support and assist Customer Quality in their personal data management activities;
  • Review existing critical Customer Quality processes and use cases to identify possible gaps against the latest Privacy regulations;
  • Actively supporting “privacy by design” activities, the related risks assessments and risk mitigating measures, especially for new use case developments;
  • Following up on relevant regulatory/legislative developments.

Duration: 6 months

Confidentiality: Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
