Our area of research includes effective image enhancement, 3D reconstruction and machine learning.

Internship in Medical Image Analysis

Two Main Tracks Are Available

  • Workflow: automation of X-ray image acquisition settings as part of SmartXR application.
  • Clinical Applications: deep image analysis to compute various measurements on X-ray images, e.g. organ segmentation, bone characteristics, anatomical properties, registration, …
We offer an open-ended possibility to tailor the project to the student.

The expected activities include literature research into the state-of-the-art, implementing and comparing various

Methods, and knowledge sharing with our internal R&D team. Further details can be discussed in an interview.

Student profile

We are looking for highly motivated student with the following profile:
  • Biomedical / Computer Science / Mathematics / Physics/ Engineering study focus or equivalent
  • Experienced in coding in python / Matlab / C++ or other programming language
  • Ideally you have experience in image processing and/or deep learning
  • Fluent in English or Dutch
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Motivated and fast learner
Place of employment: Mortsel, Belgium (depending on the project remote or partially remote internships can also be considered)

Starting date: flexible

Duration: between 3 months and one year.

This is an internship for a student from a Belgian university and is an unpayed internship

For international internship, the student must apply via Agfa’s Discovery program.
