Your challenge

As a Junior Legal Counsel, you draft and negotiate various agreements in an international context. Working closely with the other legal counsels, you provide proactive and practical legal support and advise our business units on risks, best practices, and contract issues.

You Are Responsible For
  • Drafting, negotiating, and ensuring compliance of agreements under Belgian and other legal systems. You work on different types of agreements, including customer agreements (Software as a Service, license, maintenance, and project implementation agreements), supplier agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Managing the contract process according to our internal contract policies, while developing and implementing a solid contract management process.
  • Advising on the implementation of new legislation.
  • Providing proactive and practical legal support to OMP’s business units on best practices and contract issues in line with the company’s strategy. You focus on intellectual property rights, liability, confidentiality, data protection, and insurance.
  • Designing legal processes and creating content (templates, guidelines, trainings, etc.) to improve our legal services and increase efficiency.
  • Working together with business unit managers, the commercial team, and customers.
You’ll get a coach to guide you through your various projects, make sure you grow, develop the required competencies, and take on new responsibilities.

Your team

As our new Legal Counsel, you’ll be part of the Legal team. This team acts as a business partner for other OMP departments, ensuring that OMP’s growth is duly protected by concluding solid agreements and providing legal advice with a solution-oriented mindset.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who meets the following qualifications:
  • A Master’s degree in Law.
  • A passion for commercial and legal negotiations.
  • The ability to find creative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in English and excited to work in a multinational customer-driven environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills that allow you to plan and prioritize your projects.
  • The ability to translate legal concepts into pragmatic advice so it’s understandable for people without a legal background.
  • Willing to travel internationally for up to 20% of your time.
  • An analytical mindset and an eye for detail. You think outside the box.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, coordinating with others and sharing knowledge as necessary.
Bonus Points If You Have
  • Prior experience in a Legal department.
