De organisatieFor more than 25 years POLYMER TEAM is known as one of the market leaders in production and sales of APP (Atactic Polypropylene) and IPP (Isotactic Polypropylene) compounds for application in modified bitumen roofing. The company owns 3 production sites. The two Italian sites produce solely APP compounds whereas the Belgian factory in Tessenderlo is dedicated to both APP and IPP compounds.Recently, Polymer Team Tessenderlo started a diversification of its activities by developing and commercializing Polypropylene compounds, based mainly on recycled PP-streams, for use in various injection molding and extrusion applications. To support this diversification process an important investment program was initiated to extend and adapt the laboratory and production facilities, and to reinforce the internal technical knowledge. By 2024 they will be able to double the production capacity.To help achieve this goal, they are currently looking for a Lab Chemist (m/v/x) , based in Tessenderlo.De functie
  • Sampling incoming raw materials outside
  • Sampling finished products in our production
  • Testing raw materials and finished products in the lab (a.o. MFI, moisture content, filler content, DSC Analyses, density, color, viscosity, hardness, testing raw material on extruders, mixers or injection molding machines,…)
  • Participate in new projects for APP compounds end IPP compounds
  • Register incoming raw materials in a database
  • Register lab results in a database
  • Testing new samples of raw materials + register in a database
  • Storing the raw materials in the stock
  • Daily meeting with lab supervisor regarding the quality control of raw materials, new samples, finished products,…
  • Make adjustments in production regarding quality after discussing this with the lab supervisor
  • Papers for grinding raw materials in production and enter these weights in a database
  • If there are deviations with the delivery of raw materials, discuss this with the Lab supervisor and check what to do
  • To be in contact with the process operater if adjustments need to be made in production
  • Have a good relationship and close connection with the logistic department
Het profiel
  • You have a chemical degree
  • Experience is not required, you will recieve a full training on-the-job
  • Knowledge on polymers/recycled polymers is u plus, but not necessary
  • You are interested in the recycling of raw materials
  • You are fluent in Dutch and have a good knowledge of English
  • You have a hands-on approach
