For our microCT division located in Kontich we are currently recruiting a Test Field Manager for our operations team.

Responsibilities

The Micro CT Test Field Manager has responsibility for testing and customizing complex X-ray equipment manufactured at Bruker Kontich/Belgium.

Beneath safety and performance checks of each manufactured equipment, the Test Field Manager is
  • responsible for developing quarterly system build plan according to revenue goal,
  • recruiting and training new hires for establishing a highly qualified team,
  • ensuring a safe work environment,
  • driving the best testing processes, and quality improvements,
  • providing premier customer service by shipping systems on time and
  • providing complete packing checklist and internal acceptance documents.
The Test Field Manager reports to the site leader and the division’s VP of Operations.

Customer Focus

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Prioritize production in line with SOP requirements and revenue goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement of on-time shipments of systems.
Promote a Quality-focused Culture
  • Ensure workmanship standards exist for all operations and that they are followed at all times.
  • Drive internal and external continuous quality monitoring (IBQ and OBQ), support implementation of corrective actions and evaluation.
  • Closely collaborate with the System Assembly, Purchasing, Customer Service, R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, and the global Order Administration team
Safety
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents, and near misses are thoroughly investigated and resultant actions completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure staff is trained in all relevant procedures and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with pertinent environmental health and safety procedures within their individual manufacturing operations areas.
Organization And People Development
  • Supervise staff in a manner that will facilitate high-performance in line with standards of leadership.
  • Ensure adequate tools are in place to effectively manage manpower.
  • Actively participate and assist in the selection and recruitment of new employees.
  • Complete performance appraisals and interim reviews in a timely manner.
  • Develop both team and individual goals and objectives and measure actual performance against them, providing timely and honest feedback on performance even in difficult situations.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

To be successful in this position a Test Field Manager must:
  • Have a thorough understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes, production, and test methods, ideally in the X-Ray domain.
  • Be knowledgeable in continuous improvement, safety improvements, use of KPI metrics, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Be comfortable managing high levels of pressure while delivering results.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong leadership, customer focus, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Educational/Experience Requirements
  • Candidates should have a Master of Science plus 3 years of experience in a related field or a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering plus 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent PC skills, especially Excel.
  • Demonstrated effective leader.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems ideally SAP.
