The purpose of the role

To proactively promote working to Griffith Foods values and purpose.Driving our long-range plan making Griffith Foods, the industry leader for the chosen categories, creating an area of operational excellence through continuous improvement of process and people.

Responsibilities
  • Run daily operation of all manufacturing and production related processes and ensure their successful execution of planned production schedule via the shift leaders production.
  • The management of their team members including recruitment, training & development, PDR’s, absence, grievance and disciplinary procedures.Build and maintain strong relationships with key personnel to communicate the production goals and drive performance.
  • Implement and maintain a continuous improvement methodology. Play a key role and take the lead in GCI initiatives (Griffith Continuous Improvement) related to the factory to strive for operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance of all H&S and food hygiene safety standards.
  • Be the champion in using the operating production management system RedZone and take the necessary initiatives to support, finetune at shop floor level.
  • Plan, develop and maintain operational structure within the departmental areas to ensure correct allocation of duties, authorities and responsibility. Set training and assessment standards for the factory.
  • Ensure service levels are agreed and maintained. Manage new product introduction within the departmental areas from an operational perspective.
  • Follow up of KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) set for Production.
Your profile
  • Master’s degree
  • Educational background with relevant management qualifications is a plus
  • Min 3 years’ experience in manufacturing.
  • Min 3 years’ experience in people / team management within a production environment, by preference food industry.
  • An operational background / level of experience with a proven track record.
  • Experience of working with lean manufacturing tools with delivered major projects.
  • Project management skills
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
  • Numerical skills:
  • Good coaching and communication skills required
  • Good analytical skills, to evaluate data of technical and operational parameters
  • Good understanding of key drivers of a production process. Demonstrated ability to quickly establish/ assess the financial impact of any change in the supply chain cost structure
  • Computer skills:
  • Knowledge and understanding of ERP systems (current system is BaaN).
  • Professional level of working with normal Microsoft software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Other skills:
  • Team player, constructive and positive approach, well organized
  • Proactive attitude with flexible “can do” mentality
  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally
  • Good degree of self-motivation and be able to motivate others
  • Able to mentor, coach or train others on a one to one basis or a group
  • Leading and influencing skills, confident in decision making
  • Passion for success with strong focus on getting results
