SRFB is a partner in the "Forest4Youth" Interreg project, a four-year initiative starting in 2025 in North-Western Europe (ENO). The project focuses on forest therapy to support the rehabilitation of adolescents facing mental health challenges. It involves collaboration with health and forestry professionals across Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and summarize research initiatives on forest-based mental health support for adolescents.
  • Implement immersive forest activities and virtual reality experiences for adolescents.
  • Develop a joint therapeutic care protocol combining forest immersion and virtual reality.
  • Certify and develop five pilot therapeutic forests across ENO countries.
  • Design a tailored training framework for mental health professionals and foresters.
  • Draft policy guidelines for decision-makers on using forests to support youth mental health.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree and/or significant experience in forest management and planning.
  • Strong project and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Ability to develop educational approaches for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in training facilitation and technical expertise management.
  • Knowledge or experience in the health benefits of nature is a plus.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills.
  • Reliability and ability to handle responsibility.
  • Driving license required.
  • Experience with GIS software (e.g., QGis) is a plus.
