The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) seeks applications for the position of a Scientific Project Manager (Project lead) in the field of Health to administer the ESC Atlas of Cardiology - a cardiovascular statistics project, based in the ESC Brussels office. The job objective is to oversee the project and implement capacity building and research in health economics, health policy and health management aspects in the cardiovascular diseases arena.

The position combines project management with scientific contribution in the field of health outcome and quality indicators applied to cardiovascular filed. The Project Manager will work within the Health Economics and Health Policy Unit of the European Heart Health Institute (EHHI), under the supervision of the European Heart Health Institute manager.

Main responsibilities:

- Manage project(s) focused on health economics in cardiology.

- Responsible for ensuring that the exhaustive list of activities and deliverables needed to achieve project’s objectives is defined, with associated schedule, budget and quality targets and clear split of tasks and responsibility amongst the different stakeholders.

- Monitor and control the project execution, including managing issues and conflicts at project level

- Collect, collate, and synthesize cardiology related statistics from 57 member countries across the European region and beyond

- Present the project and disseminate its results, under ESC policies and processes

- Manages project’s internal and external stakeholders

- Facilitate the participation to joint research programs with prestigious partners

- Represent the ESC in its various scientific congresses

Profile and experience:

- Degree in sciences or engineering

- Minimum 2-5 years work experience in relevant academic, policy, consulting or industry setting

- Project Management experience in scientific projects

- The health economics dimension or scientific mindset similar is an asset

- Self-driven and multi-task oriented with international understanding

- Capacity to interact and build relations with very diverse stakeholders

- Previous experience with data manipulation, data reporting and data visualisation

- Advanced Excel skills
