Department:Sourcing & SCM

Goal:

To develop, deploy and implement the global sourcing strategy in such a way that it creates added value to the company. The Sr. Buyer PG Europe is responsible to find and manage capable suppliers in the Europe area against the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) and within the, by BL Automotive Global Sourcing Director, defined targets in cost/delivery and quality.

Contact areas:

Internal: All internal departments’ plants and global departments of BL Automotive.

External: Frequent and profoundly contacts with suppliers.

Functional requirements:

Education: Master degree in Mechanical/Materials Engineering/equal by experience

Experience: 5 years procurement experience

Specific knowledge:

• strong market knowledge of raw materials and process technologies
• awareness of Customer (Specific) Requirements
• awareness of financial/environmental/social & product safety regulations

Language knowledge: English

Responsibilities and result areas:

• Co-developing and implementing sourcing strategies globally to support the long term business goals of VCST.
• Market-investigation (commercially and technically) and contract negotiations with suppliers.
• Responsibility of pre-cost calculation of total cost of ownership (TCO) of the PG goods in

quotation stage of the prospects.

• Sends out RFI/ RFQ’s to potential PG-suppliers based on the requirements of the requested

departments.

• Selection of the right supplier based upon the TCO (QCLDM: quality, cost, logistics, development and management).
• Negotiating and contracting PG-goods according to the VCST purchase-policy in order to have a smooth physical and financial handling of the goods.
• Evaluation of PG-suppliers according the VCST-procedure.
• Order-handling with the suppliers and give support to the local SCM teams in case of structural supply issues.
• Cost improvement programs and value analysis.
• Updating the MCS systems.
• Reporting KPI´s (inclusive recovery of cost of non-quality from the supplier).
• Early involvement of suppliers in development process.
• Establish long term relationships with strategic suppliers.
