We are looking for a dynamic marketing communications professional who has a passion for sustainability. The role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys the challenge and excitement of being part of a new business.

The role


A Senior Marcom Representative has responsibility for developing and executing Marcom strategies for specific or multiple businesses, segments or product lines. They are responsible for creating, developing and implementing strategic marketing communications associated with these specific growing platforms. Involves the ideation of creative campaigns, development of strategic marketing communication plans for targeted markets, businesses, and regions. Execution of these plans generates qualified opportunities that lead to revenue growth.

Work in partnership with global and regional marketing and business/product managers to develop a good understanding of the target markets and the targeted segments in the market in order to design and implement effective marketing communications programs.

Develop, monitor, and manage projects and campaigns within approved budget. Has ownership of and accountability for multiple segments/platform engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities


Identify and understand targeted markets


  • Participate in Stage Gate projects to develop market understanding
  • Work closely with assigned Marketing and Business/Product Manager(s) to identify targeted/priority markets
  • Participate in the market discovery process and marketing plan development to assess the market and fully understand markets
  • Utilize existing audience research or initiate research to validate audience understanding
  • Develop communications strategy, plans and activities
  • Determine what communication messages and channels will be effective in provoking the desired response based on a thorough understanding of target audiences in the market
  • Utilize the marketing communications process to prepare integrated marketing communications strategies/plans
  • Work closely with regional Marketing Communications resources to support regional activations and link to global strategy
  • Develop Positioning/Message/Value Proposition
  • Establish clear objectives for communications plans and measures to ensure effectiveness. Accountable for achieving objectives.


Execution/Implementation

  • Work with marketing team to ensure creative brief is complete for deliverables
  • Oversee and facilitate development of foundational messaging/assets
  • Outline collateral content structure to reflect strategic messaging /direction prior to creative input/execution
  • Collaborate with project management team to communicate the IMC plan, goals and objectives
  • Review project plan; communicate timelines with business partners
  • First line of review for asset development
  • Serve as liaison between project management team and business to provide feedback


Measurement

  • Establish measures to ensure effectiveness against communication plan objectives; accountable for achieving objectives
  • Branding
  • Recommend product positioning and branding strategies needed for the communications plan. Help managers and team craft impactful value propositions for specific functions within buying process for a specific segment.
  • Develop brands as appropriate.
  • Recommend corporate brand positioning and communications in target markets to support market development
  • Educate and coach Eastman personnel on proper use of trademarks and logos


Budget Management

  • Manage project and overall budgets to ensure that estimated and/or approved budgets are not exceeded, and that execution is as cost-efficient as possible
  • Review project and budget status with business partners quarterly; adjust actions as needed; gain approval for overspend if business case warrants


Team Participation/Contributions

  • Participate in Global and Regional Market Segment Teams
  • Contribute to corporate Marketing Communications Team Key Initiatives to build/develop Eastman capability

Qualifications


Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Marketing or Communications degree preferred.
Experience: 5-8 years of marketing or communications experience preferred

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

  • Possess an excellent command of grammar and the English language. Excellent writing and copyediting skills are required, as are an eye for detail and design.
  • Be well organized, project/goal oriented and able to work under deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage individuals or teams, internally or externally, to achieve impactful tactical execution of communications tactics, on time and within budget.
  • Ability to manage communications with multiple internal stakeholders.
