Software Validation Engineer (h/f/x)

On our Braine-l’Alleud site (Southern suburbs of Brussels), you will join the Automatic Transmissions - Control System Engineering Dept in the « Software Validation » team, whose mission consists in validating the functioning of the software controlling the automatic transmissions, which we develop for our Customers. This validation is mostly done on simulators, but sometimes also on prototype vehicles. Its purpose is to make sure the software conforms with Customer functional specifications and operates properly. The team’s action is focused on ensuring product conformity considering its internal operation but also in interaction with other vehicle elements such as the engine, ESP, main calculator etc . in every possible situations encountered throughout its lifecycle.

YOUR MAIN TASKS

• Based on your analysis of our customer (i.e. European car makers) specifications pertaining to the software managing our automatic transmissions, set up a test methodology and implement functional tests on simultors in order to determine product conformity with the requirements.
• Analyse measurement results and single out non-conformities.
• Report on the tests, highlight issues and come up with methodological suggestions to improve the testing.
• Follow-up issues up to the validation of corrections.
• On our sites or in business trips to the European sites of our customers, support the other teams involved in the development of our software products and in the quality management of issues linked to test methods.
• In cooperation with our Japanese colleagues, proceed to on-vehicle tests as requested by our parent company in order to validate the good functioning or our products in all situations the car can encounter in its product life.

• Engineer in Mechanics or Electromechanics with a few years of experience in software validation.
• You have a special interest in the development and improvement of test methods and in the automotive sector in general.
• You currently use MS Office programs, notably Excel.
• A dedicated, positive and sociable person, you have a strong will to learn continuously and to improve your skills regularly in order to gain autonomy. A hands-on and pragmatic person with excellent problem-solving skills, you have an open mind that helps you achieve excellent results in cooperation with people from various cultural backgrounds.
• You are available and flexible for short-haul business trips to our Customers in Europe depending on the needs. Most often, these trips are planned in advance but unanticipated interventions may exceptionally be requested.
• You are result-oriented and resiliently drive your missions to conclusion in a positive spirit.
• Driving licence type B required

You have a good command of English enabling you to communicate fluently with a wide variety of people – a good command of French would be an asset as well.
