Specialist (m/f/d) for Strategy Development and EU Liaison within the Global Energy Transformation Programme (GET.pro)

For our operations in Bruxelles/Belgium, we are looking for a Specialist (m/f/d) for Strategy Development and EU Liaison within the Global Energy Transformation Programme (GET.pro).

Field of activity

The Global Energy Transformation Programme (GET.pro) is a multi-donor platform bundling European forces in order to meaningfully deliver on international energy and climate goals. It does so in a Team Europe approach via four distinct instruments: mobilising private investments in decentralised energy (GET.invest), assisting public partners in advancing their energy sector transformation (GET.transform), fostering the strategic energy dialogue between Africa and Europe (Secretariat of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership), and boosting climate resilience for growing cities in Sub Saharan Africa (Covent of Mayors). GET.pro is funded by the European Union, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and Austrian, and acts in a dynamic political environment that it constantly needs to adapt its strategy to.

Your tasks

• Screen and keep track of political developments within contributors and partners with a specific emphasis on the EU, and derive implications for GET.pro
• Adapt the strategy of GET.pro and its instruments to changing priorities of its donors and partners
• Draft concept documents, presentations and other material for the cooperation with new partners
• Act as liaison officer to GET.pro contributors with a focus on different EU institutions such as the “Directorate General International Partnerships” and other relevant Directorate Generals, EU Delegations and selected think tanks
• As part of the liaison role represent GET.pro in meetings, on conferences and within relevant European platforms
• Support the Monitoring and Evaluation and Public Relations functions of GET.pro within the functions of this position

Your profile

• University degree or equivalent in European studies, social science, energy policy or in another subject area relevant for the position
• Several years of professional experience in an EU institution in the development cooperation arena
• Several years of professional experience and relevant expertise in designing or managing EU development cooperation projects
• A good knowledge of energy in development cooperation with a particular geographic focus on Africa is prefered
• Excellent writing and negotiation skills
• Political sensitivity and proven track record of communicating effectively with donor institutions
• Business fluent in German and English; additional effective operational proficiency language skills in French (C1) are preferred
