Supply Chain Transformation Planning Director
This role can be based at GSK House, UK, Wavre Belgium or US East Coast locations on a case-by-case basis.
A Transformation Programme has been established for Supply Chain to develop the supply chain capabilities required to support GSK’s growth ambition. This Programme will also drive alignment and accelerate value creation across Commercial, Operations, Finance and our Global Supply Chain. It will create the foundation for an accelerated, digital transformation of the end-to-end Supply Chain to drive revenue, profitability, and improved working capital. It will bring together complementary initiatives across GSK under one accountable GSK Supply Chain Transformation team.
The Supply Chain Transformation Planning Director is an assignment for approx. 24 months. The role will report to the Planning Transformation Lead and will work across GSC (Specialty, General Medicines, and Vaccines).
The Supply Chain Transformation Planning Director will lead a team to execute the design and delivery of the Planning Transformation programme milestones. Working with the Transformation Planning Lead, the role will define the future requirements aligned to our vision, and then partner internally and externally to design, build, test and implement the processes and technologies (OMP, and advanced Decision Intelligence capabilities) that will realise the vision. The Transformation Planning Director must be a subject matter expert, but must also be innovate and agile, and be able to shape solutions and propose optimal delivery methods to deliver transformational change in capability and the enabling processes, technology and people that support it.
The role will need to influence a wide range of stakeholders at many levels to gain commitment to objectives and to identify and resolve risks/interdependencies.
There are 3 Supply Chain Transformation Workstreams driving Planning Transformation;
- Low Touch Supply Planning and Forecasting - Planning Process Design, and implementation of our new Advanced Planning System, OMP
- Integrated Business Planning - Operating Model
- Decision Intelligence - Cognitive and Control Tower
- External Network Planning, incl. Internal Sites, External Manufacturing and Incoming Materials Supplier
- Order Fulfilment and Customer Supply
In this role you will:
- Lead of a team of experts to execute on the design and implementation of the Planning Transformation
- Partner with Global Process Owners to define the processes, systems and capabilities of the future
- Partner with Business teams, functional teams and stakeholders to define Planning business requirements, and then ensure business requirements are addressed in the design of “to-be” processes and technologies
- Define the capability release roadmap through the implementation of Decision Intelligence tools and through a sequenced build, test and implementation of core, and then advanced, APS functionalities
- Assess, quantify, embed and measure value creation within the overall implementation plan, facilitated by deployment of new capabilities
- Support business wide stakeholder engagement and communications plans to support the integration and embedding of changes into business processes, systems and teams
- Deliver agreed Workstream milestones, KPIs, budgets and interdependencies.
SC Transformation Workstreams are global, driving transformation and acceleration as part of one GSC. Integration with other workstreams and tech will be critical to success.

- Bachelors Degree — preferred discipline in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement [or any Bachelors, combined with relevant experience]
- Substantial operational experience in planning process and tools, supply chain/operations (Planning SME)
- Demonstrated experience in implementing change and a continuous improvement mindset
- Proven Leadership and people skills
- Accountability mindset
- Qualification in a supply chain or operational related discipline - logistics, supply/demand management, operational management
- Pharmaceutical / Vaccines Experience
- Strong understanding of business drivers, objectives and challenges. Proven business acumen.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to interact, influence, and manage multiple and varied business contacts, both internal and external, often with different requirements and goals.
- Leading edge knowledge of Supply Chain processes and supporting systems within a global business environment
