UNIFE is the Association representing the European Rail Supply Industry at EU and international level. We gather more than 115 companies active in the design & manufacture of rolling stock (i.e. trains, metros, trams, freight wagons) as well as rail signalling and infrastructure equipment. UNIFE also brings together national rail industry associations from 12 EU Members States.

UNIFE represents its members’ interests at both EU and international levels. We are one of the supporting bodies to the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) and cooperates with various EU Agencies like the European Union Agency for cybersecurity (ENISA). UNIFE supports also the work of the Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking and coordinates EU-funded rail research projects.

Job description

The Technical Affairs Manager will be mainly responsible for the coordination of UNIFE’s activities in the respective fields of cybersecurity, EU research & innovation, regulation, standardisation and technical railway legislation.

The main tasks and responsibilities include:

· Coordinate the cybersecurity working group

· Report to UNIFE decision-making bodies and working platforms

· Ensure the cooperation and exchange on cybersecurity with other railway and transport associations as well as platforms at EU level

· Act as interface between UNIFE and the EU Commission, ENISA and ERA for cybersecurity topic

· Follow-up of cybersecurity standardisation activities and regulation activities

· Follow-up of the Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking cybersecurity activities

· Act as project manager and dissemination leader for EU funded research projects

. Represent UNIFE at various meetings/events.

Candidate’s requirements

· University or Master’s degree with at least 3-years of experience

· Cybersecurity background, with knowledge on EU cybersecurity regulations like the Cybersecurity Resilience Act and NIS-2 Directive

· Strong coordination/organisation skills and excellent written and verbal communications skills

· Rigorous, detail oriented and strong analytical skills

· The ability to build relationships with members and external stakeholders

· Experience in the railway industry and Relevant experience in EU collaborative research projects is an plus

· Knowledge of key EU transport/rail issues and EU railway regulatory and standardisation processes is an advantage

· The candidate must be fluent in English

· The position is based in Belgium
