Within our Personal Health R&D group, headquartered in Leuven, we want to capture the strong market growth specifically in IC’s for use in hearing aids and implants, hearables, wearables and personal health monitoring applications. Owing to our success our department of 40+ engineers is growing, and we have a challenging opportunity for a Junior Embedded FW/SW Developer.
Our System-on-Chip products employ the latest Bluetooth Smart (BLE), NFC, UHF connectivity standards with our experience in ultra-low power design. We develop the full software stack from driver-level all to way to turnkey applications, which enables our customers to develop their final products with minimum effort.
Responsibilities
  • Develops applications on top of NXP silicon and associated firmware, highlighting the differentiators of our NXP IC’s in applications areas such as hearables and other wireless short range communication devices.
  • Helps a customer by finding a solution for the reported problem, either by providing a work-around solution or by providing a patch in case of a blocking issue.
  • Is able to translate a customer application into a solution with our SDK and our silicon solution using the corresponding starter kit
  • Defines and improves the starter kit so that customers can evaluate and develop in a faster pace their application
  • Educates/Trains a customer, a sales engineer or distribution partner engineer how to use our SDK on our silicon with the starter kit
  • Supports the product manager, business development manager and the regional sales teams in customer meetings and fairs/shows about the SDK and silicon solution.
  • In case time permits, develops compelling demonstrations for a specific application domain
  • Feedbacks to R&D and the product manager where the value proposition of the product can be improved (new features for a next release of the SDK or a next IC on the roadmap)
Your profile
  • You are proficient in using a SDK/firmware in a specific application domain, experience in wireless communication and/or audio is an asset.
  • Master degree in a technical domain (Engineering, Computer science) or equivalent through experience, with a major in SW or HW
  • Fast learner in technical application domains
  • Can-do mentality and eagerness to learn & develop yourself along a technical career path.
  • Proficiency with using C on embedded platforms.
  • Quality minded and team oriented
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
