The successful candidate takes responsibility for general ledger activities in our EMEA accounting department Leuven covering 15+ legal entities and $250m in trade sales.
In This Position, You Will Get To
- Maintain and analyze general ledgers for assigned areas and entities in EMEA
- Perform monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closings for assigned areas and entities
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries and adjustments, including supporting documentation and appropriate descriptions
- Prepare and post monthly cost allocations
- Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures, including assisting with US GAAP group reporting requirements
- Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations
- Manage fixed assets and Capital Expenditure Requests (CER) process
- Assist with filing of indirect tax returns for assigned entities in EMEA
- Assist with preparation of financial internal and external audits, including strong interfacing with the auditors
- Maintain local GAAP adjustments in SAP
- Monitor, review and update Sox internal controls for assigned areas and entities
You Have
- Academic background in:
- A1 degree in accountancy/economics;
- Previous experience:
- Graduate or 1 up to 2 years of experience in an accounting department;
- Skills:
- IT skills: strong MS Excel knowledge;
- Systems: ERP exposure, SAP experience is a plus;
- Language skills: English; German or other languages are a plus;
- Highly organized;
- Attention to detail;
- Analytical and problem solving skills;
- Judgement and decision making skills;
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the Company Organization;
- Team player and have ability to work independently.
