Due to recent expansion of our client’s activities, we are looking for a Junior Legal Advisor.
After an internal training you will assist the current legal team with the main responsibilities:
  • Providing legal advice to the other departments and companies within the Group (with regard to general commercial and shipping law)
  • You will mainly assist in contractual and judicial work.
  • You will be part of a legal team of 8 people, all based in the Antwerp office, and report to the Legal Manager.
  • You will provide legal advice on a wide range of business matters related to the execution of commercial transactions, including drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts;
  • Follow up on claims;
  • Follow up legal procedures in consultation with our lawyers in Belgium and abroad;
  • Advising on company law and assisting with the company administration of the group of companies

Your profile

  • You are a law graduate with at least a master’s degree and have a strong interest in general commercial law with a focus on corporate and financial law.
  • Ideally, you will have one or two years of professional experience in a company or as a practicing lawyer.
  • Knowledge of shipping law or experience in the maritime sector is not a must but may make your candidature more attractive.
  • You are flexible and pragmatic and have a stress-resistant personality;
  • You have strong analytical skills and are able to work as a team player in a challenging, dynamic and international environment;
  • You enjoy taking on a varied workload;
  • You have an eye for detail, a proactive approach and are able to meet obligations and deadlines;
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.
