About the job

As a Key Account Manager Retail, you are responsible for building a strategic partnership with the largest retail key accounts. Your daily objective is to translate the ambitious product leadership strategy of our client into a unique and sustainable growth for the company and its strategic key accounts. You will report to the Sales Manager.
  • You will be responsible for creating annual sales and account plans through identifying the commercial needs of key accounts, focused on value creation and strategic development of these customers.
  • In close collaboration with the marketing department, you will guide and support the accounts in category management. You will be their point of contact in the development of these categories, with the end consumer being the central focus.
  • You will negotiate and establish long-term agreements with accounts, ensuring competitive-quality terms that result in a win-win for both organizations. Collaboration and mutual growth are at the core of this
  • To develop long-term partnerships, you will build a commercial network within the accounts. Sharing passion, ambition, and knowledge are central to this, with the goal of establishing strategic relationships based on trust.
  • You will translate the sales and account plans and work closely with various departments, including Marketing and Sales. You will make the tactical translation to the internal organization and steer towards results in an efficient and effective manner.


About the ideal candidate

  • You have a master’s degree, ideally with at least 5 years of experience in retail sales, preferably in the FMCG industry.
  • Working at a strategic level appeals to you, as it allows you to leverage your analytical and commercial skills.
  • You possess strong communication abilities and can easily build a network with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You have a true ’can-do’ mentality: you are a driven entrepreneur who takes action and achieves results, while also being capable of setting objectives, planning, and organizing.
  • You have a critical mindset and question yourself, the product portfolio, the customer, the approach, and more.
  • Customers can approach you in both Dutch and French. Additionally, your English proficiency is also good
