To strengthen the Engineering team, based in our Belgian manufacturing site of Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Biologicals Engineering partner.

As Biologicals Engineering partner, you will be the single point of contact and strong link between Business area, Engineering and Project Leaders. You will support all Capital Investment decisions and CAPEX Projects for the Business area.

You Will Work In An Environment Where You Can
  • Act as the single point of contact and strong link between Business area, Engineering and Project Leaders.
  • Consolidate the overall technical business area perspective.
  • Participate in strategic decisions.
  • Help to translate the Supply Long Range Plan into 10-year plan through the master plan.
  • Be responsible to deliver Feasibility and Design studies budget for the 10 years plan to support strategic decisions and technical investment projects.
  • Be involved in the technical aspect of the business cases.
  • Consolidate and coordinate CAPEX project investment portfolio in the Business area, in alignment with PMO Prioritization.
  • Coach/Mentor Engineering Leaders (resources, schedule, priorities) to provide strong technical deliverables for CAPEX Projects in the Business area, delegating the responsibility of execution to Engineering Leaders under Project Leaders Management.
  • Reinforce project management methodology, best practices usage and governance in the Business area.
  • Support, facilitate and follow the use of Guidelines and Best Practices, including HSE requirements, green, lean and ergonomics best practices.
  • Has the full accountability of the overall capital investment and project delivery for engineering (from Feasibility Study to Handover) in the Business area.
  • Consolidate the overall workload to anticipate the allocation of appropriate resources to answer CAPEX project needs (from feasibility study to execution) in Biologics (Drug substance, primary operations) areas with the Technical Engineering Leader.
  • Reinforce the PMO role for CAPEX Projects.
  • After consolidation of engineering planning & competencies need, assess and identify engineering skills to increase competency level.
  • Build strong SLAs between ONE UCB Technical Engineering Leader and Business areas.
  • This role supports all Capital Investment decisions and CAPEX Projects for the Business area.
You Will Contribute By
  • Day to day activities
  • Understand and collect needs from customers.
  • Challenge and help the customers to describe the needs to prepare the GP0.
  • When the GP0 is approved:
    • Help the Sponsor/Idea Owner to start the project.
    • Identified the PL (Project leader) and team structure to arrive at the GP1
    • Drive the project to arrive at the GP1.
    • Coach the PL (Project leader) to follow the methodology.
    • Assist at the Project steerCo.
    • Be the link between customers and One Engineering structure to:
    • Inform the request from customers to engineering team.
    • Help the engineering team to identify the resources and technology needs and high-level planning.
    • Collect project issue from Engineering to inform the customers (Global info).
    • Follow the Strategy for the 10-Y plan and long-range plan (LRP) on Biologicals (Drug Substance, primary operations) Business area across UCB worldwide networks.
    Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

    Education
    • Master’s degree required.
    • MBA is an asset.
    Experience
    • Minimum 15 years in Manufacturing/process like technical project leader or technical team manager within pharmaceutical or Biotech company.
    • People management with a minimum of 10 years in a Production/Engineering or maintenance environment as manager.
    • Experience in risk management (and related specific tools (FMEA, HAZOP etc…).
    • Experience in capital and asset management (from 100 Mio€) is an asset.
    • Fluent in French and English. Dutch/German is an asset.
    • Expertise in cGMP, Green and HSE standards.
    • Expertise in chemical/pharmaceuticals and Biotech standards.
    • Good financial background.
    • Strong Leadership and people management abilities (including changes, decisions, conflicts, coaching, leading, etc.).
    • Very good communication skills at all level of organization (from bottom to top…).
    • Good analytical mindset.
    • e-tools as MS-Office, MS project…
