Elicio nv is a Belgian company specializing in renewable energy, focusing on the development, financing, construction, and operation of onshore and offshore wind power plants. The group operates mid-sized to large-scale wind projects in Belgium, France, Serbia, Spain, and Scotland. To support our rapid growth, we are currently looking for a Construction Engineer to support the Engineering and Construction team.

Function

The Construction Engineer will support the project team in the engineering and construction of onshore wind projects assigned to him/her, ensuring that the project meets the predefined quality standards within the agreed timeframe and budget.

While the Construction Engineer will be responsible for on-site follow-up and coordination, he/she will report directly to the Senior Construction Engineer. The role involves assisting in the preparation and execution of the project according to a Project Execution Plan that should be drafted and updated from time to time by the Project Manager, starting from the notice to proceed until the project is handed over to the operational team.

Profile, education & experience

• Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in civil/mechanical/electro technical engineering.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of engineering and construction.
• Technical/Commercial management background in construction related industry.
• Technical-, content- and result driven, self-starting professional taking responsibility and ownership of projects from start till end.
• Technically competent with various software programs, such as MS Office, MS project and AutoCAD. Knowledge of Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, enabling effective discussion and transfer of information between contractors, clients and team members
• Willing to travel during the construction phase of projects (3 to 4 days a week on-site for several months)
• Fluent in Dutch, English and French.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Support the project manager during the development phase of the project
• Preparation of site lay outs (autocad)
• Preparation of estimated quantities of soil movement (civil 3D)
• Evaluation of project timeline
• organization of preparatory studies (geotechnical surveys, land surveyor, foundation design, ….)
• Manage, coordinate, and supervise the engineering/procurement phase of the Project
• Steer, coordinate and supervise the different contractors during construction phase of the project
• Monitor, control and report the main drivers of the project during construction phase of the project. (timing, budget and quality)
• Liaise with the Operations Manager for the start of the service/maintenance contract
