Job Purpose and Impact

Location: multiple European locations possible.

The Engineering & Build Project Organisation (EBPO) is responsible for the design, engineering and construction of all non-base and complex base projects within 5 Business Groups in EMEA (CSST, CASC EMEA, GEOS Europe, Cacao & Chocolate and CBI). The number of Business Groups could further increase in the future. Most CAPEX values of these projects range from 30 to 200 million USD.

The purpose of the BPO Construction role is to support Construction Management (CM) best practice processes and tools in EBPO, in compliance with Cargill corporate policies & procedures. This role will support EBPO Build Project teams to execute construction (related) activities safely and effectively in EBPO projects by providing expertise and guidance.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide leadership and construction expertise to the team for project execution, scope, design and review.
• Oversee overall build project execution phase basis established project controls and timetables to deliver build projects that meet all safety, quality and regulatory goals.
• Supporting Build Project teams in pre-construction (prior to ground breaking) and construction phases
• Development and maintenance of EBPO CM processes and tools, focusing on processes and tools for which it adds value to define an EBPO practice
• Continuous improvement of CM processes and tools, based on industry practices, lessons learnt from EBPO projects and other major CAPEX projects in Cargill worldwide and feedback from peers or other SME’s in EBPO and/or Cargill
• Provide expertise during early to final design development of build projects through facilitation of construction execution strategies.
• Collaborate with other functional teams to measure, monitor and report project progress and key metrics during execution phase to mitigate risk and increase performance of project.
• Promote a safe work environment throughout the execution of the build project.
• Direct and oversee assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the project.
• Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or Engineering Degree
• Experience as a Construction Manager/ Superintendent in at least three large (>USD 20 million) industrial construction projects, executed in last 6 years, being responsible for managing the complete project construction scope and all related resources/contractors
• At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in Construction Health & Safety Management in an industrial environment
• Experience in industrial CAPEX project delivery for at least 5 years, including brownfield projects
• Experience with direct involvement in contracting processes (e.g., tender processes, contracting types, contracting terms & conditions)
• Reasonable working knowledge of building and construction standards, codes, specifications and regulatory requirements relating to construction
• Demonstrated experience with processes relating to Project Controls, Procurement, Design and Commissioning
• Knowledge of applying best practice CM processes, tools and procedures
• Strong analytical skills with reference to data gathering and processing, CAPEX estimate reviews and construction schedule reviews
• Excellent English language proficiency (verbal and written)
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be flexible to travel approximately 40% of working time
• Relevant certifications relating to Construction Management and/or Construction Safety
• Construction Management experience in multiple geographies
