Taking up this newly created role, you will, in close relationship with the customers, stand up as the Customer Voice among the Innovation & Product Development (IPD) community to bring optimized innovations and serve better our customers.
You will also drive all observation, learning and ideation initiatives in support of the Innovation mandate, working with cross functional new product teams as well as with external partners who provide market research, industrial design insight and agency support.

Reporting into the Vice President Innovation and Product Development EMEA, you will handle the following responsibilities:
Design & Execute customer surveys, prototype research, exploratory research; Work and manage closely Innovation & marketing colleagues, and their cross-functional teams, to identify how research can help their project, recommending the most appropriate methodology; Create research plans and assets to support the required research and recruiting efforts; work with Marketing or external vendors to secure research participants; Conduct and train colleagues on various forms of research (e.g. usability, in-depth interviews, field studies, surveys, card sorts, etc.) and compile research data; Analyze research data and synthesize meaningful findings, including recommendations for the project team and instruct people how to do it; Help to define—and then act as the EMEA point of contact for—research studies conducted by third party suppliers; Design and facilitate workshops with internal and/or customer participants (e.g. customer councils, focus groups, ideation sessions, etc.); Unlock fundamental drivers that lie beneath the customer’s process of choosing, buying, installing and using our products; Challenge beliefs with facts, insights and ideas that inspire; Uncover pain points and negative experiences with products or their application; Identify the essential qualities of new products that deliver value to customers; Help us create attractive, easy to use and cost-effective product solutions.
Requirements:
- Master degree in business, marketing, market research, industrial design, ethnography, engineering or other related fields;
- 5+ years of B2B experience in customer insight, ideation and execution, working with physical products/prototypes;
- Strong expertise in primary research methods: usability, card sorts, in depth interviews, ethnography, remote research, focus groups, qualitative coding, surveys, etc.
- Experience scoping and leading research projects, and managing a budget;
- Experience of designing the research, analyse and interpret the data to guide the design of physical product (specifications of the product) creating real value for the customers;
- Poise and confidence managing interaction with customers;
- Proven ability to deliver data-driven insights;
- Deep intellectual curiosity about user behavior;
- Superior written/verbal communication skills, adept at communicating effectively across all levels;
- Ability to speak, read and write fluently in English and additionally in French, German or Italian;
- Able to establish and maintain effective relationships interdepartmentally;
- Cross-functional team player;
- Strong detail orientation, project management and prioritization skills;
- Sound business judgement;
- A variety of business experience such as marketing, sales, finance, customer service, new product development and commercialization, research and development collaboration;
- Entitled to a work permit in the EU;
- This position will require 30-50% travel across EMEA.
