What does this job entail?

Our clients and employees shouldn’t have to worry about cyberattacks. As a Cyber Threat Intelligence Expert, you play a large part in their peace of mind. You investigate cyber threats that pose a danger to KBC, its clients and employees. You also tell us what we should do to stay one step ahead of cybercriminals.

What do we expect from you?

  • You investigate threats to the IT environment of KBC. You identify and classify them.
  • You do CTI research and present your findings to your colleagues of the KBC Cybersecurity Community.
  • You elaborate on threat hunting and use case design outcomes.
  • You perform gap analysis on how our adversaries try to work around our security controls.
  • You recommend improvements to our security architecture and use case enhancements.
  • You review and analyse external threat intelligence feeds as well as external cyber threat intelligence reports.
  • You interface with the KBC Group CERT function for information and knowledge sharing.

Your key strengths?

  • You have knowledge of:
    • impact assessment techniques
    • encryption en cryptography
    • network packet capture
  • You have experience with:
    • data science and analytics
    • analysing cyber threats and security intelligence
    • applying analytics to support Design Authority to define/tune use cases and correlation rules
    • log management / security information management tools
    • leveraging commercial and open-source security tools
    • log search tools and usage of regular expressions and natural language queries
  • You know how to review and interpret information on external threats, noticing every detail. You know the main adversary groups, the attack patterns they use and the current trends.
  • You are familiar with use cases and the improvements you can make based on insights from security analyses.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively in Dutch and in English.
