Divisional Sourcing Project Leader

The Portable Air Division focusses on developing and delivering innovative mobile onsite solutions that exceed customer expectations.

We are looking for a Divisional Sourcing Project Leader with a strong interest in higher regulated diesel engines and drive train solutions.

This position is an exciting challenge for an enthusiastic and driven person with a strong sourcing background, a flair for Supplier Relationship Management and advanced negotiation skills.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Your main tasks and responsibilities are centered on innovation, sourcing excellence and competence development.

Innovation

• Cooperate actively in system and product development projects in the Portable Air division.
• Hunt for new suppliers and create competition in the existing supply base.
• Monitor the technological developments within the diesel engine commodity and brief the organization.
• Assist the different Product Companies in their transition to higher regulated diesel engines.

Sourcing excellence

• Lead the contract negotiations with the (divisional) suppliers in your supply base. This requires an excellent cooperation with buyers and sourcing managers with different backgrounds.
• Create a clear view on the sourcing performance of the different product companies with regards to the commodities of diesel engines and drive trains.
• Introduce selected suppliers to the Atlas Copco sourcing principles and sourcing systems
• Follow-up suppliers in order to make sure that sourcing KPIs are met
• Manage the delicate relationships with the strategic suppliers in your commodities
• Definition and implementation of divisional or regional sourcing projects in which Portable Air’s buying power is leveraged by consolidation of volumes.
• Strive for continuous cost reduction and improving working capital.

Competence development

• Act as the divisional point of contact for all sourcing related questions on diesel engines and drive trains in Portable Air.
• Share your commercial and technical knowledge with the responsible buyers in the Portable Air product companies in order to build up local competence
• Assist in the development and propagation of a best practices within the sourcing department

What we expect of you?

Experience requirements
At least 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing function

Knowledge

• Advanced negotiation and analytical skills, strong commercial and technical background
• Knowledgeable in contractual issues relating to terms and conditions.
• Fluent in English, other languages are an asset
• Good understanding of purchasing processes, BPCS & MS Office.
• Able to identify and manage risks and implement best procurement practices

Educational requirements
University degree, master’s degree in engineering or business.
