Domain Owner E-Drives

As Domain Owner E-Drives you have the responsibility to determine and implement the research & technology development strategy and roadmap of Punch Powertrain for Electric Drives. You lead a team that makes the link between the long term market needs, technology trends and the projects executed in the product development groups by delivering the right technologies at the right time.

Job Description
  • You lead a small team that is responsible for setting up and managing the E-Drives technology roadmap for Punch
  • You are the first contact point/internal expert for questions on E-Drives technology within the company
  • You come up with new innovative ideas to improve the electric drives (motor, power electronics & transmission) and support these by calculation or simulation
  • You prepare strategic decisions by gathering information (business, market, technical) and compiling this into a SWOT analysis or business case analysis
  • You set up and guide technology development projects in which proof of concepts are developed and if needed tested
  • You build up a network in the automotive powertrain field (universities, research institutes, suppliers and customers) and ensure being informed of the latest trends by reading papers, patents, benchmarking, …
Profile
  • You have a master in engineering degree (electrical/electronical, electro-mechanical or mechanical) and at least 10 years of experience, preferably in an automotive environment.
  • You have a comprehensive technical experience in the development of electric drives
  • You have thorough interdisciplinary knowledge and experience (mechanics, electrics/electronics, power electronics, controls, system engineering)
  • You have a system way of thinking in which you can quickly understand conflicting demands and pinpoint bottlenecks in a design
  • Thanks to your strong communication and social skills, you can easily build up a network with both internal colleagues as well as external partners
  • When it is needed you can also work as an independent, perseverant and systematic worker with a goal-oriented and analytical mindset
  • You have a strong interest for knowing the latest technology developments
  • You are willing to travel regularly for meetings with partners and conferences
