Louvain-la-Neuve site is strategic within Zoetis network, specialized in vaccines and covering all steps of production, from the Research & Development, through the production of antigens, formulation of the vaccine, filling of vials and syringes to the Packaging and storage of the commercial product, including QC activities required at each step of the production.

The site has grown exponentially over the last 3 years and this trend will continue for the years to come.

To reinforce our Engineering, Maintenance & Utilities department (EMU), we are searching for an Engineering Senior Manager.

Job Description

As part of the EMU department, you will lead the engineering team and coordinate all activities related to capital investments and qualification of equipment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Responsible for leading, managing, and directing the engineering capital projects which provide support for current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) operations.
• Provide direct leadership for site engineering colleagues, achieving objectives for colleague engagement, EHS, quality, supply and cost.
• Develop and coach engineering teams to build a high performing culture and deliver all business objectives.
• Responsible for creating and monitoring the site’s engineering project portfolio.
• Accountable to develop and achieve budgets for all aspects of the engineering projects.
• Build strong partnerships with manufacturing operations, enabling functions (including supply chain, quality, procurement, finance and logistics) and corporate engineering teams.
• Responsible for setting up, updating and using the various engineering processes.
• To be aware of engineering trends and benchmarks in the industry. Benchmark against peers so that Zoetis LLN is in line with industry.
• Support implementation of tactical Lean improvements, with the goal of allowing a Lean culture to flourish.
• Responsible for the creation and follow-up of the LLN Site Master Plan
• Responsible for leading and managing the Business Continuity Plan for the LLN site

The ideal candidate would possess:

Technical/ Functional Expertise:

You have a demonstrated strong expertise in Engineering Project Management

You have good knowledge of Operational Excellence principles. You have problem-solving capabilities.

You have a deep and broad understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, regulatory environment, asset life cycle management, trends in innovation, and financial acumen

Leadership:

You are a strong leader, balancing and aligning goals and priorities to meet department and company objectives.

You have strong influencing skills to drive decisions, alignment, and conflict resolution for complex cross-functional issues

Proven history of effective performance management, coaching, mentoring and a commitment to mutual accountability, with track record of talent development and succession planning.

Must be a team player prepared to lead, work in, and embrace a team-based culture.

Demonstrated commitment to achieving business results in a manner consistent with Zoetis Core Beliefs and Mission Elements.

Education, behavioral competencies, and skills:

Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills including strong presentation skills.

Fluent in French and English (written and oral)

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and ability to learn Zoetis systems.

Experience: 10 to 15 years’ experience in GMP manufacturing and 5 to 10 years leadership experience.
