Facility Manager - Hard Services / Technical Services

Facility Manager. Our client is managing the portfolio for an International financial services business who are located in Waterloo. The role will be focused on delivering operational performance across the site by meeting the key performance indicators, delivering savings, and demonstrating continuous improvement in service delivery, while ensuring client satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage facilities to ensure that the service delivery and contractual obligations are delivered and executed in a manner that fosters and achieves superior customer satisfaction.
  • Be the focal point person with the local Clients representing the company and maintain excellent customer relationship.
  • Responsible for hiring, training and motivating facility personnel if required. Conducts performance evaluations for staff.
  • Create, review, approve and be responsible for all budgets, financial reports, contracts, expenditures, and purchase orders related to the facility(s). Prepare the annual budget, forecasts, business plans, accrual, variance report, and any other financial requirements.
  • Ensures the day-to-day operations of the facility(s) including life-safety, engineering and general maintenance are implemented in a manner consistent with policies and ownership directives. This is to include the management of contracts to assure all contracts are reviewed on a regular basis and are bid out as needed and assures invoices match contract pricing.
  • Fully understand the client’s business and needs. Resource teams to match accordingly and provide strategic direction to client where needs be and seeks to optimize delivery.
  • Work with client and global teams to ensure consistent delivery of services
  • Develop a close working relationship with the vendors under their control to ensure that they fully understand the culture and are made to feel part of the team delivering a high-quality service.
  • Conduct regular review of facilities management operations and implement improvement plans.
  • Execute and manage facilities management projects/initiatives as assigned by the client

Person Specification

  • FM processes and good practice with a strong bias to technical FM
  • Health & Safety legislation relevant to FM industry
  • Vendor contract management
