What you’ll do

To reinforce its Finance team based in Brussels, our client, one of the world’s largest networks of advertising and communications agencies, is looking for a Financial Controller, to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation.
The purpose of this role is to ensure in close collaboration with the CFO and the Accounting Manager the company’s financial health by overseeing all financial planning and analysis activities.
  • Carrying out P/L analysis and individual business areas
  • Ensuring the accuracy of all accounting transactions
  • Providing analysis on Key Performance Indicators & remuneration
  • Reviewing of business processes in relation to financial costs
  • Play an active role in the Business Plan process
  • Reconciliation of statutory Consolidated Financial Statements
  • Assisting with the annual audit preparation
  • Analysing financial results, actual vs forecasts and recommending changes
  • Interacting with relevant departments to improve cost control
  • Assisting the Management in development and implementation of new processes and procedures
  • Ad-hoc reports and analysis as required for external and internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring that the Company’s policies, rules, procedures and legal obligations are observed in carrying out the above duties
  • Preparing meaningful Management Accounts to the local and global Management Team Standardizing forecast formats and reducing unnecessary reports
  • Coordinating and preparing budgets, forecasts and financial activities on an annual and ad-hoc basis

Who we’re looking for

  • Fluent in English and French both spoken and written with good knowledge of Dutch.
  • Have a master’s degree in Economics or you are equal by experience with financial background
  • Have minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Have a profound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
  • Have excellent and extended knowledge of Excel and Power BI and are a master in handling data bases
  • Have good knowledge in Navision Microsoft Dynamics & HFM Oracle
  • Very good knowledge of accounting (BEGAAP), (USGAAP) and corporate finance principles
  • Have a flair for numbers and a sharp eye for details without losing the overview
  • Are highly structured and have excellent analytical skills
  • Are compliance oriented
  • Are enthusiastic, eager to learn and progress and a good communicator
  • You are proactive and a real team player
  • Be prepared to provide operational assistance to the rest of the team when needed
  • Are dedicated, flexible and stress-resistant
