For our client, a pharmaceutical company situated near Willebroek, we are looking for a Freelance (consultant) Strategic Procurement Capital Contracted Specialist.

  • As a Strategic Procurement Capital Contracted Specialist, you lead capital sourcing projects for our site in the region and others in the network.
  • The service includes procurement activities in all kinds of Engineering activities, production and packaging equipment, construction works and capital service activities.
  • You work with suppliers and internal partners, such as Global and Local Engineering, to create maximum value and reduce risk for our different sites.
  • You manage long-term relationships with suppliers and develop mechanisms to hold suppliers accountable for their performance and deliverables.
  • In addition, you ensure cost savings through competitive bidding, conducting negotiations and analyzing market trends for the categories under your responsibility.
  • You develop and enhance procurement’s relationship with internal customers to proactively identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement or reduce risk and cost.
  • You collaborate with the global Category Strategy Manager (CSM) in the development of category strategies.
  • You are responsible for the timely implementation of those strategies by leading and participating in cross-functional teams.
  • In this project, you provide services to the Category Strategy Manager as part of the Global Indirect Service organization.
  • The services are part of a team that enables the local plant and other sites to deliver projects in a quality and timely manner.

Your profile:

  • Economic university degree or bachelor degree with relevant first capital procurement experience (minimum 3 years)
  • Engineering background or degree is also an option as it mostly involves technical procurement
  • Action oriented and problem solver
  • Considerable stress resistance
  • Strong negotiator / Commercial feel
  • Good communicator and networker
  • Contract management / legal knowledge
  • Able to work as an individual and contribute effectively with your performance as part of a team
  • Fluent in Dutch & English (oral and written)
  • SAP/Ariba experience is a plus
  • Experience in a similar project is a plus
  • Experience in a GMP environment is a plus
