Purpose of the Job
- Develop and implement products, solutions, and lead technology development projects in the area of Beyond Beer (seltzers, ready to drink alcoholic beverages, cocktails, wine and spirits) in order to meet or exceed current and future business demands.
Accountabilities
- Provide project management & leadership, as well as hands on involvement as a project team member, always targeting agreed timeline and budget. Successful development and implementation of projects with high complexity and broad scope (technical / geographical / business impact / number of stakeholders) that will often involve important capital expenditures (Capex).
- Develop recipes, lab prototypes, and lead pilot brewery coordination for new innovations according to commercial guidelines and with superiority mindset, keeping scale-up as a priority.
- Partner with identified key ingredient suppliers to develop winning applications.
- Lead flavor and product stability procedures.
- Accountable to keep building up technical expertise while disseminating the acquired knowledge within the organization, providing technical support and identifying technical solutions, aligning particular product innovation to general business objectives. Creation of new specifications, procedures, and documentation of best practices.
- Work in collaboration with Operations and Technical Support colleagues to ensure proper scale up and implementation of products developed in our plants.
Education & Experience
- University technical degree or equivalent (Food Science, Food & Beverage Engineering, Food & Beverage Technology, Flavor Science & Technology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Nutrition Sciences or equivalent). Advanced University degrees and / or MBA are assets.
- At least 2-3 years experience within Food & Beverage Industry and Innovation projects. Wine & Spirits experience preferred.
- Experience with Innovation strategy (short and long term) and Idea management
- Proven experience in product development using flavors
- Experience with consumer research methodologies
- Understanding of sensory science
- Understanding of food regulations and labeling
- Demonstrated excellence in project management of product development / implementation
- Relevant experience within the brewing or beverage industry is an asset
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Fluent in English. Additional languages are an asset
