Organization

As an Immunohistochemistry scientist, you will become part of the investigative toxicology (iTox) team. This team is positioned within the Non-Clinical Safety Evaluation function of Development Sciences, which as a department provides strategy and support in integrated non-clinical safety, pathology, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics and DMPK, bioanalysis, immunogenicity, and regulatory activities throughout the lifespan of projects, from target identification through to clinical studies. The iTox group operates and collaborates closely with colleagues in Development Sciences and across the organization to support GLP and non-GLP in vitro/in vivo non-clinical safety activities.


Description

The role as immunohistochemistry scientist is based aroundthree principal areas

Gene Therapy, Small and Large molecule safety support
Tissue Cross Reactivity assay development and validation
investigative and mechanistic understanding of non-clinical / clinical safety issues.

You will characterize antibodies, conductreagent evaluation and perform reagent qualification andtissue preparation.


Requirements

We are looking for a high caliber, self-motivated, lab-based Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Scientist to do necropsies of rodents, trimming, embedding, sectioning, staining etc.

You have a bachelor or master in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology or related. A theoretical understanding of the principals of brightfield/fluorescent/frozen section IHC and related imaging techniques (in situ hybridization etc.). You have a hands-on direct expertise ofslide preparation (tissue processing through to slide cutting and staining).

You have good written and verbal communication skills and you can multi-task effectively and adapt to meet the demands of a fast-paced matrix-team environment.
