As an IT Patient Solutions Lead you will beplaying a central role in the improvement of UCB’s patient experience,by driving the portfolio ofpatient app solutions & connected devices,proposed beyond the pill to UCB patients on the different therapeutic areas.

Knowing the success of a drug is increasingly based on the perception the patient has on the way he is being taken care of (i.e. his/her patient experience), the ambition is to offer a differentiated patient value, materialized through an increased personalization of care through a.o. mobile applications & connected devices offered to patients and integration with external patient platforms.

This role will therefore align with the business leaders from the immunology & neurology PVUs to orchestrate the spectrum of digital patient solutions required to support UCB’s ambitions in terms of patient engagement & improved patient experience, based on:

• A broad range of digital services offered to the patients by Apps & connected devices,
• The integration of patient data / information captured though other channels (e.g. PSP services or external patient platforms) through the management of Integration as a Service (IPAAS) solutions.
• a good understanding of Software as Medical Device (SaMD) frameworkof implementation,
• a good understanding of the patient journey (patient data management capabilities),
• a holistic approach of patient needs (integration of services into eco-system of solutions),
• a personalization of content & services (modular & customizable components)

You like to work in an environment where you can:

• build the web technology capabilities required to support the new ways of engaging and interacting digitally with patients and will lead the roadmap of the ecosystem of mobile apps & connected devices solutions.
• ensure these technologies are developed as generic assets (re-usable across geographies and therapeutic areas when possible), open for integration in the UCB technology stack, but also for integration in broader initiatives like multi-sided patient platforms which would be developed in partnership with external entities like patient associations or other healthcare providers.
• ensure the right architecture is framed for all these solutions not to be developed in silos, and would be capable of supporting business initiatives like Patient Support Programs, Connected Devices, AI solutions, … respecting the GxP & GDPR regulations when required and ensuring all solutions are TSSC (Trustworthy, Safe, Secure, Compliant).
• Beyond tactical stakeholder engagement, the manager drives the implementation of the roadmap and ensures operational continuity of all solutions deployed.

Based on the type of initiative (core, adjacent or transformative), you will frame the appropriate approach & operating model to deliver them:

- Operational Excellence for Core Solutions, to be industrialized

- Agility & integrability for Adjacent Solutions, to be developed as MVPs and potentially scaled

- Guidance & Innovation mindset for transformational initiatives, to be developed as prototypes and potentially assets (MVPs)

You will contribute by:

Stakeholder Engagement & Technology Roadmaps

• Partner with the different UCB Commercial entities (PVUs, Missions, DCT teams) which are developing patient solutions beyond the drug, and align with PEX Leadson the translation of their strategic commercial goals into roadmaps of digital capabilities.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the current but also future eco-system of integrated patient digital solutions, aligning with the ambitions of the Commercial teams but also on the best practices coming from Legal, Patient Safety, QA, Regulatory Affairs, …
• Guide business stakeholders in web technology choices, including for initiatives delivered in partnership mode. Bring an outside-in view on future technology trendsand ensure the team is up-to-date with digital capabilities of the future.
• Challenge business ambitions to focus on realistic, achievable yet impactful solutions (Business Case approach)

Project Delivery & Operational Excellence

• Design, Develop, Deploy (Project Delivery) and Operate (Operational Excellence) the patient digital solutions offered by UCB towards patients
• Deliver projects in close collaboration with all parties involved (business and IT, internal and external partners), following the IT project methodology.
• Ensure patient solutions are TSSC (trustworthy, secure, safe and compliant). Work with the global IT teams to ensure such solutions are developed or integrated and operated.
• Ensure compliance of the solutions to global process and legal requirements, follow validation guidelines and SOPs (respecting the UCB QMS, GxP & SaMD regulations) when required.

Technology Leadership

• Provide guidance across PVUs Missions/ Regions /Local affiliates for building towards patient personalized content & service capability, and associated individual competencies and skills
• Follow market trends and industry best practices with the aim of sharing the acquired knowledge inside UCB and of applying it to propose innovative solutions.
• Actively take part in the implementation of the IT strategy, ensuring the appropriate leveraging of technology skills from other IT teams.

• Master degree
• Proven leadership in a multinational environment
• Experience in managing patient digital solutions & applications beyond the drug, including GxP & GDPR aspects
• Demonstrating the ability to translate, and then evolve ideas into roadmaps of web technology projects and products
• Process & data oriented and able to deal with high complexity
• Experience in managing teams of diverse internal & external competencies
• Passion for technology and ability to deep-dive when needed
• Proven management success in a multinational environment
• Understanding of business long term perspective to set up strategies and roadmaps that creates a differentiated patient experience/value
• Able to evaluate new digital technologies in view of creating patient value with a strategic perspective in mind
• Evaluation, design, development & deployment of digital patient solutions beyond the drug, including patient platforms & software as medical device ones
• Understanding of commercial, omnichannel & digital marketing activities
• Able to manage a diverse team with partners in many places across the world.
• having strong listening, communication, facilitation, influencing and analytical skills
• Capable to articulate concepts effectively and influences others to adopt a different point of view.
• Able to provide outside-in views, as a drive for change
