supporting (bio)pharma companies in all parts of the World with their mRNA-based pipeline from lab-scale up to mass production.

Based in Nivelles you will join the Molecular Biology and Biochemistry Research Team.

As Laboratory Technician and in collaboration with the scientists, you will participate in the design and development of new processes in alignment with the objectives and milestones of assigned projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lab Operations

• Preparation and execution of lab work with complete traceability,
• Management of work area, equipment, materials, and stocks of consumables and reagents,
• Coordination of routine lab activities with peers (operational work, monitoring of consumables and reagents, maintenance of a clean and safe working area, housekeeping routines),
• Collaboration with lab support technicians for general management of the lab,
• Reporting of experiments,
• Autonomous protocol writing, based on a study plan (estimation of the quantities and/or volumes required, duration, samples),
• Writing of process-related documentation,
• Execution of operations associated with RNA production and process development:
• Preparation of enzymatic reactions by pipetting micro volumes,
• Quantification and characterization of nucleic acids and proteins,
• Preparation of reagent mixes,
• Execution of experiments following defined conditions.

Reporting

• Writing and management of documentation related to experiments,
• Data and result collection and record in defined forms with accuracy,
• Result analysis and report writing.

Quality Safety and continuous improvement

• Adherence to internal quality system in daily work,
• Adherence to standard operating procedures in all executed operational tasks,
• Generation of process quality documentation (procedures, work instructions, templates, etc.).

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or equivalent,
• Minimum 3 years of experience (Bachelor’s degree) or 1 year of experience (Master’s degree) in molecular biology (work with RNA and/or DNA, enzymatic reactions, cloning, PCR, etc.),
• Experience in purification of nucleic acids and with analytical techniques (nucleic acid and protein gels, nucleic acid quantification methods, analytical chromatography, protein quantification methods, etc.) is an asset,
• Autonomy in both routine and project related lab activities and capability of troubleshooting,
• Work experience in BSL2 lab is an asset,
• Integrity and transparency,
• Strong sense of observation, inventive & critical mindset, scientific curiosity, and problem-solving skills,
• Proactivity, flexibility, work organizational skills,
• Enthusiasm and agility to work on a variety of projects and adaptability to a changing and multi-tasked environment,
• Capability to work in a cross-functional and multi-cultural team,
• Capability to leverage know-how in order to participate in the development of the new generation solutions,
• Good understanding of English, fluency in French is mandatory.
