The Global Purchasing Platform of Aperam regroups all the non-raw material purchasing community of the group and has the prime mission to leverage its >1 BUSD spend across all countries bringing in innovative solutions from the market, leveraging synergies across plants / continents and ultimately actively contribute to cost & innovation leadership of our plants operations.
As a Local Buyer, you are responsible for the tactical purchasing process related to (technical) services focusing on Price, quality, and delivery terms. This requires close alignment with internal stakeholders to assure early procurement involvement. You are also able to participate ad hoc to some strategic purchasing projects and have a good potential and willingness to develop/grow in the purchasing function
Responsabilities:
As a top-notch buyer you ensure excellent purchasing performance as :
- You manage in an agile way your portfolio of purchasing requests autonomously, identifying cost savings opportunities, and negotiating the most favorable terms with suppliers, always aiming at lowest total cost for Aperam.
- You have a hands-on mentality: you are responsible for the entire Request-To-Pay process. To facilitate an efficient way of working, you ensure an optimal management of all closed deals within the SAP MM system.
- You are capable to autonomously drive local sourcing projects, and you are agile as well to manage ad hoc purchasing requests.
- You can drive TCO improvement initiatives. Good project management and stakeholder management skills are required.
- You assure all suppliers comply with Aperam’s responsible purchasing targets. You run the Supplier prequalification process for your supplier’s portfolio. You closely monitor supplier performance and take necessary actions when needed. You are responsible for the suppliers in your portfolio.
- You are driving compliance and efficiency, making sure that applicable purchasing tools/systems for your scope are actually used and in line with the Global Purchasing Policy.
- Last but not least, you understand that as an Aperam employee, you will uphold health & safety and ethical standards at all times, treating your stakeholders accordingly.
- You graduated in a Technical or Commercial Bachelor degree and have at least 3 years of relevant purchasing experience.
- You are driven, take ownership and accountability for your area of responsibility, with a high level of autonomy
- You are agile and can manage different priorities, arbitrating dynamically depending on importance vs. urgency
- You have strong influencing and change management skills, supported by an open mindset and a can-do mentality
- You are aware of the environment with an innovative mindset and eagerness to learn
- Thanks to strong communication skills and a proactive attitude, you can coordinate multiple projects and you’re able to convince and motivate colleagues and internal clients.
- You have a first experience in tactical purchasing, preferably in a (technical) service related domain.
- You are familiar with an ERP package (SAP is a plus)
- Above all, you are eager to learn and enjoy challenging status-quo
- You speak English & French fluently. Able to communicate in Dutch is definitely advantageous.
