The Position

Part of the Imerys Group, the world leader in mineral-based specialties for industry, Imerys Graphite & Carbon is headquartered in Switzerland, with a specific and important production center in Willebroek for cutting edge carbon black solutions.

For our Operations Team based in Willebroek we are looking for a:

Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager supervises and reports on activities to improve & develop the operational performance of the Carbon Black facility in Willebroek.

Primary purpose

• Ensure proper compliance with the site’s EHS rules during maintenance interventions (including contractor safety).
• Develop a maintenance strategy for critical equipment and implement cost effective procedures in order to obtain the required equipment availability, quality and production rates to meet operational requirements.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective execution of maintenance shutdowns of the production lines.
• Ensure maintenance complies with our ISO systems.
• Manage all maintenance activities of the site: the Imerys maintenance team and the contractors working on maintenance items.
• Work in close cooperation with the Production, Engineering and Quality Manager in order to ensure that maintenance activities are in line with quality and process engineering requirements

Accountabilities

- Maintenance

• Manage the supervision & coaching of all maintenance personnel & contractors on site to carry out activities in a safe and environmentally compliant way.
• Manage maintenance personnel & contractors to maintain the equipment to meet production requirements.
• Set-up and execute a maintenance strategy with focus on maximizing up-time of the production and packaging lines.
• Manage storage of and access to spare parts, to ensure break-down of equipment does not impact the supply to our customers.
• Provide forecasts of maintenance costs so that these can be reviewed against budget
• Participate in initiatives to improve the operational performance at the Willebroek facility.
• Active participation in the management team of the Willebroek site.
• Ensure the availability of Maintenance Technicians and suitable contractors to achieve the required level of production reliability to meet customer orders.

- Reporting

• Ensure adequate reports are available/provided for all relevant activities on site.
• Provision of monthly reports for maintenance related activities on site.
• Provision of KPI’s in order to fulfill the requirements of the regular (mainly monthly) reporting
• Provision of regular updates to the local and corporate management team (management meetings, Business Reviews, etc.)
  

Technical competencies & skills

• Fluent in Dutch & English
• Strong people management skills
• Strong focus on Quality, EHS and Continuous Improvement
• Strong communication skills, both written & face to face
• Substantial level of technical competence
• Financial understanding of maintenance costs
• Good level of IT knowledge
  

Education & qualifications

Engineer-type education in electromechanics (or equivalent) and a first experience in industrial maintenance with team management.

Relevant experience

• 3 to 7 years relevant professional experience in an industrial environment.
• Continuous improvement experience.
• Supervision of personnel, employees and contractors
