We’re looking for a Medical Science Liaison who can start ASAP, with the final end date being 31.07.2026.

Job description:

Role Purpose:

Responsible for scientifically engaging, collaborating and aligning with a broad range of external stakeholders to address identified patient needs and ultimately change the practice of medicine for better patient access and outcomes. They leverage the right evidence at the right time during their engagements and identify disease area (DA) insights that impact development of the cross-functional DA strategy including the Integrated Product Strategy (IPS), Integrated Evidence Generation Plans, launch excellence roadmap, Patient Journey and medical strategies.

Strategic and Business Mindset

Leverages and integrates insights from patients, Health Care Professionals (HCPs), Health Care System (HCS) and policy makers to shape disease area and patient strategies

• Co-creates with other functions and develops strategies to maximize clinical potential of compounds at early stage (pre-launch) or post-launch (in-mkt evidence gap)
• Collaborates closely with evidence generation and early-launch team, providing valuable field insights
• Weighs risk to benefits and value to patient return on investment when considering priorities, resourcing, strategic plans and performance-focused analytics.
• Collaborating with Novartis colleagues to actively support meetings by collecting and interpreting insights, competitive intelligence, presentations as well as results.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

• Developing and maintaining long-term professional relationships with investigators, medical specialists and healthcare professionals.
• Utilizing superior therapy area and product knowledge to engage with HCPs through non-promotional evidence based scientific dialogue and presentations on scientific research concepts and ideas with investigators
• Identify and map external stakeholders beyond Healthcare Professionals, aligned to the medical strategy, and in collaboration with other colleagues.
• Able to create personalized, flexible engagement strategies and plans, leveraging multiple channels and tailored content to meet the changing needs of external stakeholders.

HCS Thinking & Launch preparation

• Leverages and integrates insights from HCPs, HCS and policy makers to shape disease area and patient strategies
• Ability to understand unmet medical needs, disease and competitive landscape, treatment practice, patient journey, stakeholder perceptions and how to translate these into strategic advantages while addressing the needs of Health Care Systems
• Support and contribute to innovative partnership models for shared owner-ship in transforming clinical practice
• By focusing on inter-relationships of the whole Health Care System, offers new insights and shifts mind-sets about the long-term consequences of interventions on the relationship and trust between Novartis and other parts of the Health Care System.
• Evaluate the impact of events/actions on the whole Health Care System (HCS) both on the short and long term

Profile:

• Experience in field-medical function in more than one therapeutic area is a plus.

• Working knowledge of the health care system
