Our client is a national BtoB retailer headquartered in West-Flanders and with stores across the country. Active in the industry of power tools and construction & furniture fittings, with a strong focus on quality, support and product expertise.
Within the company, a recently established business unit focuses on the Group’s digital business models and online presence. This includes e-commerce activities, online marketing initiatives and digital proposition A young and dynamic department with startup DNA, which can fall back on the strength and expertise of the company as a family business. We all have a passion for digital, e-commerce & data... and we have the ambition to make the company als online the market leader in our sector!
They are looking for an " Online Category Manager"!
You will have the opportunity to put your shoulders under the digital growth story. You will work together with the department head, the Digital Marketing Strategist,...
On the one hand, you are jointly responsible for the development of this digital sub-department (determining the range to be played out, the online pricing policy, the processes between the departments and the recruitment of your online category management team).
On the other hand, you will keep the helicopter view of the targets to be achieved and make every effort to realize the planned turnover.

Do you see yourself being responsible for…
- mapping out the online commercial strategy and determining the online range that we will be offering on our various digital platforms.
- coordinating the depth and breadth of the product range and also work out online specials in collaboration with colleagues from the purchasing department.
- the realization of the turnover planning, determining the price positioning, promotional pressure and actions that we carry out online in order to achieve our turnover target
- on the one hand, you have an eye for the market and the general planning, and on the other you determine specific online actions.
- maintaining an overview of all objectives and monitor the realization of the planned budgets.
- setting up the collaborations between the different departments (product management, online marketing, logistics) and choosing the necessary tooling and partners to ensure that the product- and revenue-related processes run smoothly.
- the analyses and reports on the turnover, the assortment, the margin, the price positioning and sales.
- working on the turnover planning, weekly promotions and monthly actions
- thinking about how we can offer interesting bundles / sets of articles and manage the category development
- providing the internal briefing to the other links in the process (logistics & online marketing) in order to realize our turnover ambitions together

Have you/ are you…
- a Master’s degree (preferably TEW, commercial sciences/engineering) and combine this with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in category mgt or as senior product manager
- a first experience in e-commerce and/or the pure player world. You possibly have affinity with the B2B or DIY sector
- result-oriented, stress-resistant and know how to set priorities.
- good at networking and have the right / assertive qualities to negotiate and realize plans.
- a coach and motivator to your team, which you steer in an appropriate manner.
